It usually seems like the road team keeps one of the first 2 games close, and whether or not they pull it out can really turn a series. With Roy out, the Suns may slightly overlook us come game 1. I highly doubt they will in game 2 after they see us bring it Sunday night. The question is, will it be enough to win? I don't know, but I think if we steal one of the first two in Phoenix, chances are it will be game 1!!!
I doubt they will overlook us, they know we've beat um three times this year, but we'll definitely have to steal one sooner than later. Good thing we got the second best road record in the Western Conference!
It sounds like their fans are already planning for the 2nd round, so hopefully their players are too. Although some of us are probably doing the same thing, so that doesn't mean much.
We might or might not steal one in Phoenix the first two games, but it sure seems like everyone else is really underrating Portland's chances here. If Portland gets out of the first round, it's going to be sickening to me watching the national media jump on the bandwagon.
They wouldn't jump on the bandwagon if we got the 2nd round. or the conference finals, and definitely not the NBA finals. and by some miracle of miracles (involving some guy walking on water and changing bread into wine and fish into soylent green or something) won the finals? No bandwagon jumping would occur in the media.
Call me greedy, but I want Game 1 and Game 2. Phoenix could easily steal one at Portland. I don't think Home Court really means that much to this Blazers team.
Not this year, at least. I think part of it's injuries and part of it's them relying too much on the crowd to get them up for the games.
Agreed. And can you really blame them this year? Subtract the best player from ANY of the current playoff teams, and how could you not consider them huge underdogs in their respective series?
I think game 1 is the one we have a chance to steal due to they do not really know how to scout us or prepare for us without Brandon. Most teams are not prepared to see us without him. Hopefully our better team passing and balanced team will give them fits. And a tandem of Camby and LMA will throw them for a loop. With Andre setting up Rudy and Marty on the wings, along with Nic. Hopfeully Nic and Martell can shut them down as well. Need an enforcer throw Pendagraph at em... Give them some players they are not prepared to see.
I do think we have a chance to steal one in Phoenix, but let's not forget that the Suns are a veteran team with one of the most savvy point guards in the league leading their attack. If we are going to take one away it will be with grit and effort, not with tricks or surprises.
.571 is all I care about for the rest of the playoffs. Go 4-3 over the next 4 rounds and we are good to go.
After last years 30 point beat down in the first playoff game, I feel we have a good chance of winning game 1. The guys have the experience and know what to expect.
I think it might more likely be game 2, especially if they beat us by a good margin in game 1. Because they lost the season series and have also had playoff troubles in the past; I don't think they'll be overconfident at the start of the series, but that might change with a big game 1 victory.
You so crazy!! Be nice if we can come home 2-0! But I remember getting a split against the Pistons in the Finals and being so happy and then we lost 3 straight at home. Just got to play one game at a time!
