I thought it was a foul in real time, too. However, in the slo mo replay, Webby went straight up. He has a the right to his vertical space. It really was an amazing block. And the second one? OH MY!!!

I hate that the NBA is too often like the WWE, but I wouldn't be surprised to see us playing 5 on 8 in Game Two. If we win Game Two, the series is over, and I don't think Herr Stern would like to see us advance so easily. PHX is a team that draws ratings. Us? Not so much.

Of course, that rule has been violated by Shaq his entire career. How many fouls did Sabas get simply for raising his arms and getting slammed into by O'Neal?

More than his share. Sabas' problem is that he wouldn't plant his goddamn feet and take the blow from O'Neal most of the time. Then again, the reffing at the time was totally pro-Shaq, so I doubt there was anything Sabas could have done. Shaq was the superstar, Sabas wasn't.

I agree. I expect Game 2 to be a ticky-tack reffed game with everything aggressive thing that the Blazers do on the defensive end to be whistled. It's sad that this is the expectation in today's NBA.

well let's just hope if that happens, then the coaching staff can pick up on the change quickly and make adjustments.

Yep. Let's be honest about one thing as well: Nate did a great job yesterday. He Booger-Hooked Rudy out of there instead of being stubborn and sticking with him because he started. Nate put the guys out there at the end that had been getting the job done.

yeah, when Bayless was getting his game to flow, he kept letting him play.

Some Suns fans seem to be blaming the reffing for their loss.

I think it was 60% flop and 40% disbelief that Bayless on the dribble didn't cut a whole lot closer to LA. Nash was expecting contact on a pick, but didn't get any and sort of seemed to lose his balance.

I'm not sure if Bayless thought he was fast enough to get by Nash with no pick or it was just sloppy execution on Bayless' part.
