Garnett was suspended a game for basically doing the same thing. I'd like to see LA come out and take it at Stoudemire (after the NBA decides not to suspend Amare), but LA would just end up with 2 fouls the first 2 minutes of the game instead of the first 4 minutes. A bush league move by Amare, though. Barkley, of course, was laughing about it.
Nothing will come of it. If a basketball game is played in Portland, Oregon and the National Media ignores it except to yawn and make fun of one of the teams, did it ever really happen? Yes, my inferiority complex is in full fucking bloom, and guess what? We *ARE* inferior. Portland doesn't rate. It never has, and it never will.
I'll excuse your earlier frustration about rooting for the team and agree with you on this post. No fucking way Amare is suspended, and Chuck the Fuck Barkley must have been drinking tonight, because he is soooo excited and won't shut up.
Contrary to what Mike and Mike were saying I hope emphatically that he's NOT suspended or fined. That was in the heat of the moment, it's playoff basketball, IT'S SUPPOSED TO BE PHYSICAL. And I don't want this team to duck Amare', they need to play against their best and even if that means getting their peepees spanked so be it.
Amare won't be suspended, so it's a moot point. Still, if Jarron Collins can get flop fouls on LA in the first quarter, this series is over.
No way, amare was just swinging, and it hit him in the chest first, while garnet hit him with the elbow in the head
I want to win the series...If he gets suspended that helps our chances. We need all the help we can get without B and Nic.
A series win would be great, but I'd actually rather find out just what our other players are really made of, and the only way to judge that is against the opponent's best.
I hope they do, because we need all the help we can get. But they won't suspend him. And WTF, Nik?! You wan to judge our players in this series, when we're missing our two best players, our best defender, and a starting caliber backup center?
Yeah, I don't think Amare will get suspended over that, although that entire second half was one long promo by Blazer broadcasting to try to turn it into one.
They took game 1 without their best player IN Phoenix, not too mention after all the injuries this whole season they still ended up the 6th seed, with a nice strong finish to beat the Lakers and the Thunder w/o Roy. How much more can you really ask of them?
I guess I sort of see this series as a fait accompli for the Suns, in the meantime I want to find out who the real gamers are on this team; is LMA a gamer, is Rudy, is Dante, Pendergraph, Martell, Nic, etc. Better to find out now if these guys are merely role-players (and thus probably replaceable) or if they are indispensable.
Not only best player, but best Blazer player since Clyde Drexler. Of course, I've read that many here want Roy to tone down his game so Miller, Rudy, and other players can contribute more. Shit, those players are getting their chance right now, and they are failing miserably. We'd be a 30-win team without Roy.
I can't ask anything else except to see hustle and competitiveness ... Nic and Martell have kind of impressed me, LMA and Rudy have left me a little cold.
That's hard to do when they are asked to be more than role players against a very good PHX team, though. The thing about role players is how do they fit into the actual team. That can't be assessed right now.
I personally think Amare is a freaking douchebag and the elbow fits the guys character. Suspend his ass.
