I really don't get the drama here. Back when the Blazers made their choice, it was common knowledge that KD was gym rat - the kind of kid who lives for basketball. That was never Oden's personality. He was still a dominant college center, and the team still thought he was the right guy, for a variety of sound reasons. Personality isn't really the issue here - durability is. If the trip to Indy doesn't interfere with his rehab, it isn't that important. Now, if Oden isn't around for the play-offs, then I will be more concerned.
Someone had to look it up, so I did. BGrantFan's neat stories http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&...ster&resnum=1&ct=more-results&ved=0CAoQrQIwAA PapaG's neat stories http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&...PapaG&btnG=Search&aq=f&aqi=&aql=&oq=&gs_rfai=
Re: Why is Oden in Indiana? I've never even heard of gay mascara fetish websites, much less seen any ratings. barfo
GO is still in Indy. http://www.portlandtribune.com/sports/story.php?story_id=127207022451475000 smh Safe to say, he doesn't hold a candle to Brandon in the heart department. Oh, and Joel is back in PDX. He was apparently seen at Dorenbecher for a community service even last week.
There was a time when people challenged Roy's heart as well, just sayin. I don't know if Greg being in Indy says much about his heart as it does his mind. Greg Oden has demonstrated a certain level of mental fragility thus far in his career. He is an interesting dude, kinda eccentric really. The jury is clearly still out of Oden, but I am more than willing to give him more time to show what he is all about, and I will always remember how hard he worked to come back after MF surgery. It has to be pretty tough to go through major rehab only to have to go through it all over again the next year.
Well, the good news is that the games have been on national TV, so at least he can watch them now. Although if they can't pony-up the money for league pass, I doubt they have NBAtv. smh
Rule #1 of the Blazers Playoff Fight Club - There is no mentioning of who doesn't show up to the Blazers Playoff Fight Club.
Blazers fans, always looking on the dark side Especially after perhaps one of the most special games in franchise history.
Kobe Bryant has made a nice career for himself without being a back-slapper for his teammates. (Back-slapping female hotel clerks? No comment.) I don't care whether Oden is with his teammates, likes them, cares about them, etc. As long as he stays healthy, plays well and plays within the team concept, that's all I care about. If he ignores his teammates otherwise, that's his call.
Wouldn't it have been nice for Oden to have experienced in person one of the most special games in franchise history? To have witnessed the crowd and his teammates going bat shit crazy when Roy returned? There are very few in here that still don't love Oden and wish the best for him. I just think that many of us are puzzled by his decision not to be here.
Maybe he has been reading this forum and just assumed there was no reason at all to attend the game to see a lazy LMA and an idiotic coach that has no understanding of how to win.
You forgot about the GM who will never be able to make a trade to help Oden become a champion, and also the lack of ball movement in Game 4 with Roy coming back. Why would Oden want to be a part of any of that?
He totally lost heart when Outlaw and Blake were traded. How can he play for the Blazer when their two franchise players got traded for nothing?
