I dont even know man. Was SAS the away team with his crap on Duncan? I just cant stand that guy. And I am one in here who doesnt really jump on refs. He is just bad.
So Camby actually fouled Hill, but they screwed up and put Nash on the line instead. I've seen worse.
Camby *barely* touched Hill, who didn't flop and thought the call was on him when Crawford blew the whistle. Joey was going after Camby's 4th foul. That's what's awful. That he let the best free throw shooter in the hisory of the NBA shoot the free throws was just icing.
How did Camby foul Hill? Hill moved into Camby. If anything, it was a moving screen. After I saw this play last night, I knew again the fix was in. This league is so fucking predictable.
AH! That's why Hill immediately whined when Crawford blew his whistle! He knew he was moving on the screen!
A reasonable explanation, but I have two questions. First, where was the foul on Roy? Second, why was Steve Nash shooting the foul shots?
Dunno, it seems to me that the foul that Camby got called for on Hill was essentially the same foul that Oden got called for on Yao during last year's playoffs--impeding another players progress through the lane with one's shoulder. I've seen that call made many times since. Are you suggesting that that's basically the "jaywalking" of foul calls--it only gets whistled when the ref wants to see it?
They were. You might as well put the League's best foul shooter at the line if you want to compound the damage.
At some point you have to laugh. The Blazers went up huge and then the foul parade started. At one point the Suns were up 23-4 on free throws. I said to my wife, "Watch, now that the game is out of reach, they'll put the Blazers on the line a ton so the box score won't look so blatant." Sure enough, the FT advantage ended up 32-24. I hate it when the NBA becomes the WWE.
"Clearly"? Hill basically bounced off Roy before making contact with Camby, and then continued his progress under the hoop. He never "set" at any point, or even appeared to attempt to. Usually on a moving screen call, the screener is either late getting into position, or slides a bit after being set. I could see how Crawford might not have seen it as a screen attempt at all, in which case the call was valid, or at the very least not remotely as egregious as some are suggesting.
Sorry Platypus your just plain Wrong. "Clearly" Grant Hill thought the foul was called on him and that says Everything.
Man that is one fucking bad call. That is as rigged as you can get. I wonder how they can even try and spin that any other way.
They wouldn't even care to try to spin it, in Fact, here's the Deal: The Portland Trail Blazer fans, organization, and even players have blatantly called out the NBA for using the Ref's to control the flow and outcomes of the games. Well last nights game was a Blatant message from the NBA to Us: "Yea So, We make the Rules, What's your point small market?"
Not possible because Roy wasn't within 3' of Nash. I think it was a decision made by Crawford that there would be a foul on Camby and a further decision that Nash would shoot free throws. The true reason is known only by Crawford. But there has to be a reason for that call. It wasn't a blown call- it was a purpose call.

Well last nights game was a Blatant message from the NBA to Us: "Yea So, We make the Rules, What's your point small market?" " That is probably true. The problem with the NBA's thinking is it would be better for the league if teams like the Blazers or Okc actually won and advanced to the finals. Sure you might lose viewers and money for one year because you don't have the highest profile teams. It is like the NCAA tournament. People watch to actually root for the underdog and see upsets. That's what makes it special. The NBA has very few upsets and teams like Sac against the Lakers or the Blazers against the Lakers have no chance. So, many fans are disgusted and gave up on the NBA years ago. It is a great game but IMO a terrible league for the way it is run by Stern and the crooked rigged officials.
Yep, I was driving home after not being able to take watching it anymore. And even Wheels and Tone were talking about this. Phoenix had a HUGE advantage with FTAs, and then for some reason, the refs were calling fouls toward the end against the Suns when it didn't really matter. And Wheels said oh look, the box score will say the FTAs and fouls called will be similar but really, the Suns were helped out a TON with a huge discrepancy in the FTAs up until the third quarter. Just bullshit. and that call was TERRIBLE.
This is where Nate REALLY drives me fucking crazy. He should have been screaming and throwing chairs at that point. If for no other reason that to draw attention to it from the national media. Instead he stood there and let Joey fuck him in the ass. I get so sick and tired of seeing our coach not stand up for his players. At least he unfolded his arms.
