They are messing around with us to try and make everyone forget about their rumored Fabregas bid, I'm assuming. Wenger said that we have more chance of signing Messi than us selling Cesc, heh.

    - Arsenal have been linked to resign Madrid's Lassana Diarra. Why would be need a defensive midfielder if we already have one of the best in the Premier League (no argument allowed). If Diarra came to Arsenal, I can't see him starting ahead of Song and that will basically be a re-run of what happened in 2008.

If Hangeland was 24 and not 29, I'd believe it.

Yeah, I'm sort of shocked he's that old. Do you realize we need to get three more players on the squad who are over 21 to fit these news rules?

    - According to Italian website Tutto Mercato, Arsenal are in pole position to sign Fiorentina's highly rated goalkeeper Sebastien Frey.
    - But German media outlet Sportbild are convinced that Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger will make a concerted effort to sign Bayer Leverkusen goalkeeper Rene Adler this summer.
    - Arsenal forward Andrei Arshavin, a long-time Barcelona fan, still dreams of playing for the Spanish giants one day, the Russian international has revealed. "Even playing just one season for Barcelona would make a pinnacle of my whole career," said Arshavin.
    - Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is apparently considering a move for Manchester City forward Roque Santa Cruz.
    - Wenger has also placed Borussia Dortmund's Serbian international centre back Neven Subotic at the top of his summer spending plans as he looks to freshen up his defensive options.
    - Former Arsenal star Alexander Hleb could return to England this summer with Manchester City, Aston Villa and Sunderland among a host of clubs across Europe keen on recruiting the Barcelona midfielder.

^ Adler is quite young, though. Better long-term solution?

We've been linked to Frey forever. Has to be SOMETHING to it.

Best case we'd pick up Lloris, in my opinion.

already done on Fifa 10. Lloris is a BEAST in that for me. I tried Frey before and his reaction time was slower. So we gotta do it the Fifa way! ;)

    http://www.arsenal.com/news/news-archive/wenger-talking-to-definite-transfer-targets-

Arsène Wenger has been talking to his "definite transfer targets" and hopes to do business before the World Cup begins.

The Arsenal manager has been linked with a number of new players in recent weeks after his side dropped out of the reckoning in the Champions League and Premier League. Speaking ahead of the weekend game against Manchester City, Wenger was naturally not forthcoming on the names involved but did suggest he wanted to recruit before the tournament began in South Africa on June 11.

"I have definite transfer targets and I have been talking to people but I will not tell you to who," he told the Arsenal Matchday Programme.

The Frenchman then revealed there was a desire to bring in players ahead the summer tournament. He went on: "I believe the earlier you settle your team the better it is and the less anxiety you have."

Wenger added that he would not sign a player on their strength of their performance in South Africa "unless there is an exception there that nobody knew before. Also post-World Cup the prices are always artificial.

"Overall I feel it is very dangerous to buy on [the strength of] the tournament because sometimes there are players who are fresh and have not played the whole season. Everyone can have three weeks of glory as a football player. Ten years is a bit different."

If the price is right, they can have him.

He's one of the reasons Clichy has been so exposed this season.

    Rarely tackles back.

That is a great point. I haven't been a fan of Arshavin so far and he has been extremely lazy this season.

AA isn't good at it, though. His offensive form is supposed to make up for it. He just hasn't produced. He is one player I think really needs to play with a creative forward like RVP.
