I would hope that at this point Oden is frustrated, angry, and fired up. Instead, he comes across as either depressed or indifferent.
Well hes going to be at the game tonight so lets see how he seems to be handling him self when they show him on camera.
Frustrated and angry with who? God? Fired up to keep weight off his knee? I love the psychological evaluations going on here from a million miles away (metaphorically, but almost literally...he is all the way in Indiana after all!!). He's not angry enough! He's in a bad place with his emotional well-being! He doesn't care enough. He's not committed. Scary thoughts running through my head...
Did you listen to the interview? Unfortunately, we fans have been given basically no information about Oden's progress, and his live interviews have been few and far between. My take is that the guy sounded like he needs a hug. Am I right? I don't know. Am I wrong? Could be. Did I express my opinion based on new information? Yes. Have others who listened to the interview also had subsequent questions about Oden? Obviously. I don't see the need to poke fun at people who actually listened to the interview. It's your right, I guess, but I find it unnecessary and counter-productive.
Yes, a live interview is a solid window into a person's soul. I'm sorry I implied that you had absolutely nothing to go on due to not ever interacting with him and never seeing what he's like outside the public eye. What I find unnecessary and counter-productive is the pop psychology analyses of players by fans. It's your right, I guess. I do find it amusing that you used to rail at people who criticized Outlaw for his lack of basketball IQ, because it was such a vague and opinion-based criticism, despite it relating to something we can actually observe: his on-court play. Yet you're perfectly fine with psychological analysis of psyches that we get virtually no opportunity to observe.
Huh? Anyhow, I posted that I thought it sounded like Greg may have been napping and that he needed a hug. Can't we all use a hug? What do you have against hugs?
My guess: If he's in a good mood, that means he doesn't give a fuck. If he's calm, that means he doesn't give a fuck. If he looks down, that means he doesn't give a fuck.
My guess: If he's in a good mood, that means he does give a fuck. If he's calm, that means he does give a fuck. If he looks down, that means he really does give a fuck. My point is, Nobody will ever know what its like to be in his Big Ass shoes. No point in analyzing
I think GO took a bunch of money and has called it good. Don't be shocked if he never comes back. He's got 18 million plus in his checking account, he can live a great life just off the interest. Portland got screwed on this deal and we all know GO should be at the playoff games cheering his team on. There is no question about that! He has the money to take an entire row to rest his leg on if need be. To be upset though makes little sense. GO's character and heart and want for this game have been questioned since he stepped in the NBA. He has not had one good year to disprove that logic so maybe this is really who he is. The good news is GO is so injury prone that we can sign him for a pack of bubble yum without much worry that another team will want to take his type of risk on. Couldn't hurt to have a back up 7 foot center who has flashes of Bill Russell talent could it? Let's move on.......
Oden on rehab - http://www.columbian.com/weblogs/blazerbanter/2010/apr/29/video-oden-discusses-rehab-mindset-return/ Best quote, "I've been using my bone stimulator a lot," LOL! Yes Greg we know, we've all seen the pictures.
In the big scheme of things, what's wrong with me taking a couple hundred years off work to drink it up. After all, who do you think invented tequila? Trust me, the Blazers will win a championship soon, within the next century for sure. Got to go to the bathroom, be back soon. GOD
But will it happen after you sober up, or while you are passed out and somebody else is in control.. Like.... As Church Lady once said.... SATAN!
If the guy has issues getting up stairs five-months after the injury, then there is something seriously wrong with his knee.
