Re: 2nd Round: Lakers vs. Jazz (Lakers lead 2-0) Updated thread title I'm so glad that in this series, we've gone to the post consistently. Our big men are playing like big men, I think that Thunder series did us some good. My only gripe now, is letting teams back into games. We gotta stop that nonsense. Nice to get a long rest. We haven't had a 3 full day rest in the playoffs the last 5yrs.
Re: 2nd Round: Lakers vs. Jazz (Lakers lead 2-0) I loved how we played this game. Kobe didn't force himself on the game too much... that's what you call a 'quiet' 30 LOL Good balance scoring wise and i also liked that we crashed the boards the way we did: odom with 15, drew with 14, pau with 15.
Re: 2nd Round: Lakers vs. Jazz (Lakers lead 2-0) We're longer but I'm not sure we can defend their bigs well. Fish will usually always suck on D, I expect them to continue to pour on the points.
Re: 2nd Round: Lakers vs. Jazz (Lakers lead 2-0) Bynum, Gasol, and Odom...domination. Kobe...domination. Jazz...outmatched. Bring on the Suns!
Re: 2nd Round: Lakers vs. Jazz (Lakers lead 1-0) At least Kobe showed he's not proud and still was able to take it with humour. Said that photoshoping is a BAD idea Nice game, even though Jazz got it back to 4 at some point, it was under control for us. Everybody played well, frontline was beasting on offensive boards. Turnovers were the only problems but you can't get a perfect game. I'm getting more comfortable with this team, still there's a monster coming out of East. I expect Jazz to take one at Utah but a 4-1 series win would be great right now, just hoping they won't get 2 wins out of us
Re: 2nd Round: Lakers vs. Jazz (Lakers lead 2-0) The Lakers played Championship brand basketball for most of the game last night. We took advantage of our size and destroyed Utah in the paint. Without Milsap's contributions off the bench this would have been a lopsided victory similar to Orlando dismantling the Hawks. Interesting Chris Bosh sighting at the game last night.
Re: 2nd Round: Lakers vs. Jazz (Lakers lead 2-0) I wouldn't go that far. Millsap averages 18 a game in the post-season this year and we had to fight well into the fourth quarter. The Magic won by 40 something points and they rested most of the fourth quarter.
Re: 2nd Round: Lakers vs. Jazz (Lakers lead 2-0) He was well above his average last night with 26 points and also forced Laker turnovers leading to easy transition buckets. He was keeping Utah within striking distance off the bench. Without him the Jazz would've been throttled last night. Our 3 point struggles continue. 4-17 last night and most of them were wide open looks. Artest was 1-7 alone. The Lakers can't continue to shoot this poorly against the big three in the East (Cavs, Magic & Celtics.)
Re: 2nd Round: Lakers vs. Jazz (Lakers lead 2-0) Kobe played 42 minutes and Pau played 37. We only won by 8, they won by 43 and their starters didn't touch 30 minutes. It wasn't even close to as dominant.
Re: 2nd Round: Lakers vs. Jazz (Lakers lead 2-0) My point is the Jazz would have quit without Milsapp's production last night in similar fashion to the Hawks quitting last night. The Hawks didn't have any spark off the bench to keep them close and interested in competing for all 48 minutes.
Re: 2nd Round: Lakers vs. Jazz (Lakers lead 2-0) We don't have enough depth to maintain that kind of lead even if they had quit. The Magic were first in schedule-adjusted margin of victory. They rate nearly identical to the 2009 Laker team.
Re: 2nd Round: Lakers vs. Jazz (Lakers lead 2-0) I liked how Fratello said "Jack is giving the refs some sign language tonight." LMAO.
