Alright, if they are coming, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE any season ticket holders, lemme get a pair of tix I heard its an exclusive event
Thats the name I keep hearing but that is from SCUSA so I dont know if they heard it from anything reliable. But I heard top 6 EPL team. Which could be Manchester City, but then I hear they are doing East coast only on their visit. Tottenham maybe? I highly doubt it would be Arsenal, Man U or Chelsea coming to a USL team lol.
I've heard Man City from several people I trust to have credible info. This match would most likely happen at Merlo Field so it could be played on grass, so it will not at PGE Park. Merlo seats just over 4000, so if you are not a season ticket holder you may not get into this match. Not sure if I'll be allowed to buy extra tickets, but if I am I'll let you guys know.
that still doesnt make sense for them money wise... you would think they would find a big enough place to make money.
I'm guessing that Man City was going to be in town visiting Nike, so they just added a game to their tour schedule.
Man City Match Official Announced for 7/17 The story: http://www.portlandtimbers.com/newsroom/headlines/index.html?article_id=1632 Man City will play the Timbers at Merlo field on July 17th. Tickets are only available to full season ticket holders. You'll have to buy pro rated season tickets to get into this match.

They're really playing at a 4,000 seat arena? That's absurd. A huge money making opportunity for someone gone.
I don't think its good marketing. Most people who are serious about the Timbers either have them already or can't afford them. What about the general soccer fan who isn't into the Timbers? Or get fans from the region in for a match? You might have to sit with Sounders fans, but the Timbers would be making serious cash off of this.
Yeah I agree.. but hey they got a season ticket outta me. At first I was gonna pass it up.. but they told me about their flex plan which sold me.
