Maybe they should teach reading, writing, math, science, art... and not try and teach their brand of ignorant politics.

Well, hopefully, while doing so, they'll at least teach them how to spell "un-American" properly.

As a state whose largest cities routinely pick and choose which Federal laws to obey or ignore, whose local governments knowingly hide and employ illegal aliens, whose colleges churn out people who like to beat Koi fish to death with bats, whose voters elect actors to lead them rather than actual real people, I can't say I'm surprised. California has no idea what "American" means.

well, with the state of California Public Schools, in 10 years the majority of 20-y/o's in CA will think that the Alaskan Immigration Law is un-Jamaican.

So, does the LA County school system teach that "Jim Crowe" is related to Cameron Crowe? If you're in the education business, shouldn't you know it's "Jim Crow"?

Funny, well, not funny, read the story and it does not say what the Fox (Faux?) News headlie (a typo, but I'm leaving it, because it fits) says.
In other words, the LA schools discuss controversial periods and laws. This is a controversial period and law. It is to be discussed like other controversial periods and laws. There is not controversy in that, unless you are Faux News and want to manufacture one. The resolution says nothing about un-American. But don't let facts stop you.

actually if you read between the lines, you know exactly what they're going for.

She is assuming that this law somehow violates some civil rights when it is merely enforcing the law.
