All media is BS. That's their job though, to control people's emotions.

 

The US are trying to start shit over something that had minimal effect on England. I just can't understand their reasoning. There was a war 200 years ago that was inevitably going to happen. What else is there? We are the State's closest ally in the modern world yet they can't keep their arrogance in-check.

Not all media does it to control people's emotions. Some tabloids like to say drastic things just to cause a stir. ESPN are doing exactly that with this "England and USA rivalry" shit.

The media in the US advertises the English and USA rivalry the way it does to draw in people that believe that there is actually a big rivalry in the sport, which there isn't. Why do they do this? To gain more viewers. There are plenty of Americans that don't know anything about this sport but are still interested in what all the buzz is about with the World Cup. Why not pick at what bugs people the most? Their pride. I find it hilarious.

Of course the media controls emotions, that's how they get big ratings. ESPN's commercials are just for fun, although I do find it hilarious that you probably are getting the same commercials as we are. I wouldn't get so offended over it. Besides, if you think those are bad I was just on the phone and seen a new commercial from Dodge where the British are running away because Americans are chasing them in Dodge cars.
