Why does it need to happen at all? I don't get it. I don't believe stroking PA's ego is in the job description, and if it is, then PA is the problem, not KP.

Yeah, I'm not understanding Charcoal's complaint at all, unless he expects Pritchard to be a suck-up Yes Man, which he clearly is not.

I'm sure he'll go somewhere else and turn around a bad situation. Hopefully then, the owner won't be a small, petty man, and the fanbase won't have ridiculous expectations.

Uhm, KP's situation has nothing to do with our expectations. Quite the opposite. But I see how it's fun to just get a dig in when you can. :)

What dig did I get in? People are complaining that a 21-win team went to 54 wins in 3 years and 50 wins in 4 years without any significant contributions over the long-term from the #1 pick in the draft in 2007.

I call it like I see it. I call it unrealistic to expect much more from a franchise that was a laughingstock 4 years ago.

Allen being a small, petty man is of course the most relevant to Pritchard's situation, but fan expectations are what they are. Please try to make sense next time.

yep me too.. I dont really disagree with them looking to change, but they certainly are entitled to do it. But the way its being done is bush league IMO.

Another thing about Pritchard needing to praise management/ownership after the Penn firing. Since that firing, the only "leaked" news item we've seen is somebody suggesting to Dwight Jaynes that Penn made 'inappropriate' sexual comments to a staffer. If that's not true, or even if it is, why the fuck would anyone want to praise that ownership?

We'll be lucky if Mo Cheeks and John Nash come back to work for this clusterfuck Vulcan empire in Seattle.

Uhm, again, our expectations of KP in no way, shape or form will contribute or have contributed to his eventual firing. There are a handful of idiots that espouse such things, but the vast and overwhelming majority of Blazer fans are going to be extremely upset when KP is fired. He is loved and supported by the fan base. Fact.

Besides, nothing appears more disingenuous or desperate that getting compliments from people you know you're treating badly. If anything, that approach would cause me to lose respect for an underling.

And again, I never said that the posts on this board did have anything to do with him being fired. And I agree with you, because I'll be very upset when Pritchard is fired. It's pretty much unbelievable to me that this could happen after a season where we missed 300 games due to injury and still won 50 games. It pisses me off. I'm sorry if I lumped you into a very small, but very vocal, minority.

He did...it was in an interview and he said something to the effect of how great of an owner Paul Allen is....

So what you are saying has no merit....

You're right. That was when they sent him out at the practice facility with Larry Miller, who basically told Pritchard he was going to be fired without actually saying it to the media.

When Penn was fired, KP's agent threw alot of accusations against the organization. IMO, KP should have said something on behave of the Blazers. Since he did not, I think it is more than fair for them to evaluate options for GM. They have always maintained they are evaluating and still pay KP.

I bet there would be just as many complaints if we fired KP right now. First, it would leave us with an inexperienced war room before the draft and put someone that knows our intentions in someone else's. If we also fired KP before looking at our options, there would be complaints if no one wanted the job that was better.

I am not in favor of getting rid of KP unless there is a better option, but it would be worth seeing if KP could do the same thing with an organization with less money. Not every owner is going to throw money into every deal, eat contracts like Francis and Raef, or buy draft picks. KP has professed his lack of CBA knowledge and not everyone is going to overpay someone like Tom Penn to cover this flaw.

I hardly see Paul Allen as a small, petty man. He is probably too close to the team and needs a GM that can show him this though.

Good luck on finding a fanbase that is not happy unless it is winning championships.

Was that before or after his agent started slinging mud?

What does his agent have to do with anything?

Seriously, is Allen that much of a pussy to get majorly upset enough to fire Pritchard over? Agents say stupid shit ALL the time, that seemingly is part of thier job....

If all this had come out at the season ticket renewal deadline, I wouldn't have renewed. I will always be a fan of the team, but I almost feel guilty giving this crazy ownership group money right now.

I don't know of a good reason to get rid of KP, but I am not going to blame the organization for not getting a good replacement until... well, until I see who they get to replace him.

The indignation and gnashing of teeth is something I just don't feel compelled to do at this stage.

I guess Pritchard was supposed to fire his agent, who correctly called that Pritchard was also being screwed? The same agent who stood up for Penn and Pritchard even after the Vulcans leaked the "Penn is a sexual deviant" line to a "source" who then fed that line to Dwight Jaynes.

Paul Allen is running a bridge club, and we take it seriously. The joke is on us.

Well, you already put wood on the fire within the last week. But that's your job, I guess.
