Is it wrong? I don't care. I love Chris Christie. I've seen a number of talks he's given around Jersey and am just blown away by his global grasp of the budgetary problems facing his state, and by extention, the country.

He's not dividing based on politics, race or gender; he's uniting citizens, standing up to the intrenched interests and saying everyone needs to make sacrifices now for the future. Frankly, from many people I know that voted for our President, this was supposed to be the promise of Obama. Yet it's being fulfilled by a fat guy from Jersey who's about as telegenic as Ernest Borgnine.

Search "Chris Christie" on YouTube and find and post other videos. This video has many more like it.

Unfortunately, most politicians in NJ are held accountable by sending them to jail.

Christie is considered one of the up and coming stars in the republican party, along with Bobby Jindal.

Republican, Democrat, I don't care. I just want more people like him who will actually govern in the real world, where a budget cut isn't just a reduction in the annual percentage increase. Where someone sees dysfunction and doesn't say, "well, this is how government works", but "this has to change". Where someone doesn't govern through speeches and soundbites, but rather by speaking the plain truth to people.

Strongly agree with the above, but to your list I would add "Where someone seeks solutions to problems and works with other parties, rather than spending their efforts pointing their finger at other parties."

:check: Nice addition. As long as each side is willing to work to solve the problem rather than play politics, I wholeheartedly agree. Unfortunately, everyone except for guys like Christie and Jindal are in campaign mode right now and won't give the other side an inch.

Agreed with the campaign thought -- it's true now, but I'd love to get to a point where voters react strongly against partisan politicking . . . especially during campaign time. If politicians thought they'd get smacked down for it, maybe they'd stop doing it. If they thought they'd get elected for bipartisan solutions, maybe they'd start focusing on that.

Yeah, yeah, I know, it's overly optimistic.

I agree with the general solve problems not play politics meme, but I'd also include politicians for approval who are legitimately unwilling to work together to solve problems when the sort of compromise that would be required to get a political agreement would make the end result worse than the status quo.

Maybe a better way to say that is that superficial "I'll scratch your back of you scratch mine" bipartisanship is usually no solution to any problem.

He might be the rational voice that splits the "tea party" from the blood thirsty finger pointing image I have in my mind on tv.

Blood-thirsty, finger-pointing images are universal. You simply have to look within their respective places.

I dunno, that sounded awfully hopey-changey to me. I'd guess he was born in Kenya.

I guess that means if he runs for President, then he has your vote?

Any speech is gonna sound hooey-changy, the difference is if a politician can manage aething more constructive.

Christie has so far, which already puts him about a trillion miles ahead Of that president we have.

Has he? What has he accomplished? Not being snarky, I don't follow NJ all that closely.
