Mo Williams doesn't really fit the "big time all-star" Quick has labeled the payer as being, but nonetheless, Mo Williams is a guy I believe is the perfect fit next to Brandon Roy, and is exactly what Nate McMillan wants. Certainly makes a lot of sense.
Having watched Mo in CLE very closely in the past two years, I hope not. Dre might not have Williams' shot, but he's way smarter, and is a better teammate.
I imagine KP goes to Paul and says hey, I swapped Andre Miller for Mo Williams! P.A.'s going to roll his eyes and fire him. He'd say who gives a shit. He's a marginal upgrade, a better shooter, but worse on the blocks. Our soft jump shooting team just added another. You wonder why you're being fired?! And then Wark would have to trade Mo for Baron Davis, and Davis for Chris Paul to right the ship.
(Spends 5 glorious seconds dreaming of Deron as a Blazer, then snaps back to reality) I don't know what Quick is smoking/shooting/snorting/rubbing into his bellybutton, but this is getting borderline laughable.
The blazers couldn't talk to LeBron or Bosh, but the Cavs and Raptors can, so why is it so unbelievable that the team could work out a sign-and-trade before July 1st? Kp talks to Colangelo Colangelo talks to Bosh. Bosh says he would sign with the Blazers if the deal was max. Blazers and Raptors work out a deal that the Raptors are happy with. Everyone is happy.
I'd be 100% on-board with acquiring Brand and the #2 for Joel/Webster/Rudy... whether the Blazers took Turner or Favors, it would give us a potential star to add to our team AND an upgrade, as you stated Denny, at the backup big guy spot. Ed O.
While the trade rumor most certeintly could be surrounded around the #2 pick, I still don't think that saves KP's job. While having a potential stud in Turner or Favors is good, they are just that though, coming into the NBA, potential. So I don't think management want to go through potential over a proven all star vet. While it would be awesome for KP to pull it off, don't think it saves him.
I fear you might be right. The worst part of having KP on the chopping block is that he might be trying to save his job, rather than what's the best move for the franchise in the long run... Ed O.
No kidding. Mo Williams would make me pretty pissed off at both KP (for damaging the Blazers) and PA (for signing off on something so stupid). We've got enough "Houdinis" pulling disappearing acts in the playoffs already, we don't need more.
Rumor is they turned down Prince, Villanueva and #7 for Brand and #2. I don't think Joel, Martell and Rudy gets us close.
Villenueva is a negative. He's worse than useless and has a long contract. If the Pistons could offer just Prince and the #7 and absorb the rest, I bet Philly jumps at it.
I think we're looking at Bosh. LMA and Bayless for Bosh and Calderon. We keep Rudy. Then, we make a move trading Pryz, Webster, Pendergraph and our #22 pick for Brand and Philly's #2 pick, selecting Turner. This keeps KP's job! Miller / Calderon Roy / Rudy / Turner Batum / Cunningham Bosh / Brand / Howard? Camby / Oden
OK, this made me laugh. You have the second overall pick as the team's third string shooting guard, behind Rudy?
