And no please no STARS Cabaret suggestions.

Medicore Man becoming the avatar of Irony, pointed out in the Mo Williams thread that Portland is filled with role players and what we need is another star next to Roy.

So with that in mind and Lebron, Wade, Kobe, Dwight Howard, D Will and Rondo off the table. Who should Portland target?

Please try and be realistic. So if you are proposing a trade for CP3 because you are really feeling original today, please offer up the goods (at least LMA ++++) in a theoretical trade.

I feel like Bosh is a good target, but probably isn't realistic as he wants to be the MAN wherever he goes and is looking for some lime light.

Some folks I think might be achievable are Igoudala (meh), T Parker (Meh+), Devin Harris, Danny Granger, Darren Collison (budding star?). In that vein maybe an upcoming star like Tyreke Evans, Stephen Curry, Eric Gordon?

Just to Hijack my own thread CP3 is open to a trade!!!!

Seriously though, lets hear it who is the missing star? How do you get them? Please no garbage expiring contracts and filler for a star trades. That's for me to do in YOUR thread not the other way around. :pimp:

It should be easy enough for a team like the Blazers, who are over the cap, to exchange their mediocre / average / role players for a star. I mean, the main reason other teams exist in this league is to help out Portland, right?

I was adapting it. The "Acquire Chris Paul" was the "profit" for the Blazers.

A Chris Paul/Okafor deal probably wouldn't lead to profit for Allen. ;)

    Was I just insulted?

I think Bosh is a good target, and I honestly don't think he'd be too hard to get.

I thnk to get him though, you'd need to figure out a way to keep his buddy, Aldridge.

I still like overpaying for someone like Chris Paul. If Portland can deal Rudy for a low lottery pick (which has been rumored) then I think you could get something done. Let's use #10.

I think you could get NO to listen hard with a package of

    Aldridge
    Bayless
    Batum
    Joel
    #10
    #22

    for

    Paul
    Okafor

Then all of a sudden Lebron looks hard at Portland because Chris Paul is here

    S&T with Cleveland

    Roy
    Oden
    Filler
    for

    Lebron

    That leaves you with

Paul and Lebron, and a bunch of lesser role players along with a draft pick you purchaced from Miami

But Paul, Lebron, Okafor, Camby isn't the worst line up ever, and I would argue it's better than anything we can put on the floor now

I've posted it before, but I'll post it in here too. Contingent on the following:
    a.) SA will part with Tony Parker for a top-5 pick, because they want a young big to pair with and eventually replace Duncan;
b.) MIN offered up the #4 for Nic Batum
I'd target Tony Parker, sending Rudy and Batum to Minnesota, who sends Brewer to us and the #4 to SA (who also receives Joel for salary purposes). Leaves us with:

    Parker/Miller
    Roy/Bayless
    Brewer/Webster
    Aldridge/Cunningham
    Oden/Camby

Ok, how about Aldridge and something to Dallas as part of a S&T Dirk deal? Aldridge is a home town boy, and Dallas could do a lot worse than replacing Dirk with Aldridge and say, Rudy

    I don't believe Rudy's current value is close to a top10 pick.

Hell the rumor out of New York is #37!

Not insulted, but I felt you truly were being the avatar of irony when you complained about the mediocrity of the non-Roy members of the team.

Horrible, I'll keep Batum over Parker. Batum shouldn't be leaving unless we get someone godlike like CP3. I'd rather trade Aldridge then Batum.

Untouchables in order: Roy, Oden, Batum, LMA.

That's a good idea. Roy and Dirk could definitely make some noise. Difficult to shut them both down and Dirk would play well off of Oden. I like it.

LeBron is the only star available worth bringing here.

Otherwise, draft and bake as usual.

He isn't a no defense Spanish point guard who can't shoot.

    I thought it was obvious.
