Maybe we can call him "El Christo Paul". Would that work?

No. The principle of conservation of spanish players cannot be violated. Paul would need to obtain spanish citizenship.

    You think that

    Miller/Bayless
    Roy/Rudy
    Batum/Webster
    Aldridge/Cunningham
    Oden/Camby

    is better than

    Parker/Miller
    Roy/Bayless
    Brewer/Webster
    Aldridge/Cunningham
    Oden/Camby

    ...Really?

Vanilla Gorilla has the crux of it--which lineup gives a better shot at a title? I might follow by asking, why are you carping about needing stars over role players if you'd rather keep Batum (a role player) over Parker (a 28-year-old finals MVP and 3-time all-star)?

    I'm saying that:

    Parker/Miller
    Roy/Bayless
    Batum/Webster
    Camby/Oden/Pendergraph/draft pick
    Oden/Camby

is better then your proposal because you have defenders on the perimeter and the middle. Giving up LMA IMO doesn't hurt the team as much as giving up Batum. You added Brewer out of nowhere so add a journeyman PF to my lineup as well. Getting rid of Aldridge lets Parker and Oden score more and keeps a tight perimeter.

By the way Batum is my second guess for potential second star behind Oden. LMA isn't it he's had plenty of time to show what he's got and the answer is little or no heart. Before you dog on Odens health let me remind folks that if oden is an injury riddled nightmare from here on out there is no championship for years if not a decade. Our chances with a healthy oden and the lineup above are about 15 - 20% in Sterns league. Without a healthy Oden that drops to about 0.0005%

I'm talking about which role player LMA or Batum, that I feel is more valuable. I'm also talking about which roleplayer has more star potential. The answer to both is Batum.

Also Parker while more likely available then many stars, isn't my favorite choice as then your three stars all have very spotty injury histories. I'm a big fan of Batum and wouldn't trade him unless it was for an absolute no brained like Paul or Lebron.

Let's roll it back. Your first statement in reply to me was "Horrible. I'll keep Batum over Parker." The whole Batum/Aldridge thing is separate. Now, if you'd rather trade Aldridge straight up for Parker, then that's fine, but that still doesn't support your initial response, especially in light of the thread title. Oh, and if you read my entire first post, you'd notice that Vanilla Gorilla didn't just conjure Brewer out of nowhere--he was part of my suggested deal.

As for which role-player (Batum/Aldridge) is more valuable on a team with a Parker/Roy backcourt, I'll respectfully disagree with you on that.

I fucked up my back pretty hardcore last thursday and can't sit at the computer for that long. Also on pain meds. No time to fight over me not analyzing things well (re: original statement), especially with a poster I like alot like you. Hence, I was wrong about a lot of things. I still don't like LMA as much as Batum, not wrong about that ;)
