Did I hear Canzano right? IF I heard correctly, Claver was in town today working out in front of PA and everyone.

    Game-changer! Pritchard's job is saved. It's a Christmas miracle!

Ugg, just not excited about another Spanish player. I will hope for the best if this is true, but something tells me this won't end well after a season or two if he is on our team.

That's only partially true. He is in town, but he is really here for a date with Yi Jianlian, which he hopes will end in Yi's new Peal district apartment.

I remember hearing Claver could have been a lottery pick if he came out this year instead of last year.

If he is in town, I wonder why he would need to work out in front of anyone?

Because if he works out in the back of them - they can't see him to evaluate him.

Maybe Paul Allen has reservations about involving Batum in any kind of deal, even a blockbuster deal. Maybe the scouts feel Paul will be at ease once he sees what he already has in Claver. Just a thought.

That makes sense. Or seeing if he could move up to play the 4 for the same reason.

I used to love Ramblin Rod. I actually worked with his son for a while. He was a nice guy

Personally, while I'd like to see Claver pay dividends for the team in the near future, I wouldn't read much into this. I imagine it's just Claver keeping in touch with a possible future employer, Like anyone, I'm sure he'd like to keep his options open. I doubt it's a last second evaluation to determine whether Batum or Aldridge can be dealt.

Good thought. Another possibility - someone present was a representative of another team who is thinking about taking Claver back as part of a package deal.

Or - KP got his notes mixed up with last years and is planning to draft Claver again this year.

I'd guess Claver is pre-emptively delivering his "I'm not happy in Portland" missive, only he decided to skip the passive-aggressive approach that Rudy and Chacho employed and instead is using the aggressive-aggressive approach.

I loved that show too. I used to watch it while getting ready for school. I mean no disrespect to the late great Ramblin Rod or his son.

It could mean Claver is trying to decide if he just wants to make the NBA jump now and not wait 3 more seasons. But I doubt he does once he looks at the financial penalties he will take on leaving his current team for his pre-set rookie scale contract.

Remember, it was injuries that tarnished Claver's star - leaving him looking like a "tweener" (in the bad sense). There could be several reasons why he wants/needs to convince the team that he is actually recovering fully.
