"Orlando Magic starting small forward Matt Barnes'(notes) first preference as a free agent would be to try to win a title without needing to pack for another move. But if he doesn't re-sign with the Magic, Barnes said Monday that he believes there are options for him - with other contenders. Before signing with the Magic last summer, Barnes said the Los Angeles Lakers, Dallas Mavericks and San Antonio Spurs were among the heavyweights who showed interest and he feels he's still on their lists. 'I'm out in L.A. and I've heard that the Lakers are definitely interested. But who knows?' Barnes told the Sentinel by phone from Los Angeles, where the former UCLA forward attended John Wooden's memorial service and the BET Awards and is also planning his wedding. 'I've heard a lot of rumors about a lot of things.' Barnes said he also has heard that the Magic perhaps are looking to swing a deal for a prime free agent. Shooting guard Vince Carter(notes), reserve center Marcin Gortat(notes) and back-up small forward Mickael Pietrus(notes) have been among the names mentioned in trade scuttlebutt. 'I hope we can get all our pieces back, but you never know,' Barnes said. Barnes told the Sentinel he also would be open to coming off the bench if the Magic make a trade for a power forward, a move that might shift Rashard Lewis(notes) back to his natural position at small forward. 'If we get one of those free agents, I'd have no problem going to the bench,' Barnes said. 'Everyone wants to be a starter, sure, but the goal is to win a championship.'"

    No!

Why do we want every douche bag that tries to get under Kobe's skin?

The trend continues. LOL. Maybe Ruben Patterson and Bruce Bowen will try to make a comeback with us too.

I don't like Raja and Matt Barnes, but it worked with Ron :P

Maybe one dude a year for a championship each.

Do it Mitch ! Barnes brings toughness, energy, and defense something our bench has lacked the last two seasons.

FUCK that. S&T for Tracy McGrady, pick up Steve Blake with MLE.

Kobe playing only 35 minutes? Imagine.....

Pipe dream would be if there was a way to pick up CP3 w/o giving up Bynum, Pau, Kobe, Fish, or Artest. Probs not though
