@WojYahooNBA G-State restricted free agent Anthony Morrow has slew of interest, including Spurs, Celtics, Lakers, Blazers, Clips and Jazz, sources say.
Whoever wants to buy the Warriors had better hurry up. Cohan is trying to put every penny he can into his pockets before he sells. If you want to do a S&T with GS, the key isn't sending back good players, but sending $3MM in the deal.
We'd have an edge if we didn't already have something like a million guards and wings already on the team jockeying for PT. I don't see many of these guards or forwards real excited about signing an offer sheet with us only to join what is at present a crowded mess. The only thing I can see happening is a sign and trade and I'm not convinced we have anybody in place right now that can manage that.
All these guards make me scratch my head, too. The only reasonable explanation is that we already have a consolidation trade teed up. Of course, reasonable explanations haven't been seen around the Blazers for a few months, so it's probably a mistake to think we have a plan.
I really don't think there is anything imminent, I thought maybe there was something worked out on draft night with all of those guards/wings taken, but now I suspect the approach is to load the team up as best they can so the new GM can have plenty of trade bait to work with. My other thought is that Rudy plans to hold out and stay at home in Spain unless he gets a trade -- one way or another I don't see any way that Rudy plays another minute for the Blazers.
I'd be wary about offering him too much money. His stats are inflated in the GS system, and historically, one dimensional shooters don't really live up to their contracts (Kapono). I think I'd rather have an more well rounded player like Matthews.
