Only one of us appears to be butthurt, and it isn't me. I'd appreciate it if you not make up my position the next time you resort to your childish games, though. ;)

I see what you tried to do there...it didn't work.

I get how you get your first hand and and your feet, but just how do you nail your last hand into the cross?

Whatever bro. Shift the focus to me; it's better than defending your position.

If people keep thinking EVERY deal is a bad one... maybe their perspective on the market is wrong?

We'll see if the market "corrects" at the end of the summer and there are good players out there, waiting to be scooped up on the cheap due to early overspending... or if these deals are actually what the market (even if the market is a bit twisted) reflects.

I like production, and Drew Gooden is productive. $6 million/per seems reasonable to me given what he gives you on the court. I'd love to have him coming off the Blazer bench at that price, yet Milwaukee is paying him to start. Without being in a locker room, I won't label him a "cancer" as others did in this thread. He was a starting PF on an NBA Finals team. He obviously didn't blow up that locker room.

This deal seems slightly too large (in years), but it's not insane or ridiculous, like the Rudy Gay deal. At least Gooden is being around the right rate per year. I just wouldn't hitch my wagon to him for half a decade.

It's the five years thing that has me shocked. I totally agree that Gooden is probably worth about the MLE for 3 years, but with his claim to fame of 8 teams in 8 years, it just seems like a bad bet.

Do we know if there are any team options tied to this deal? I agree that the years are a risk, but I think signing Rudy Gay to a max deal over the same period is a much bigger risk.

I don't think that anyone disagrees that jumping off a five story building is better than jumping off a skyscraper, but that still doesn't make jumping off a five story building a good idea.

I heard the final two years are team options.

3 years/~$16 million guaranteed, then team options the final two years.

Waiting for a link on this, though.

How is that a bad deal?

If the last two years really are team options, than this is a perfectly reasonable deal.

That deal is much more reasonable, but that wasn't the deal you were defending.

That seems to be the word on the Bucks board I visited. That's basically the MLE for a 17 PER and 17/11-esque starter.

I wouldn't have minded to see Portland take a run at him if that was the cost. He'd be a big upgrade over whoever is going to try to play back-up PF next year.

I was defending the price compared to production. You could stop making up my argument for me at any time, mmmmkay?

I said the years were worth debating, but not the yearly price. Read the thread again, or don't, and continue to post out of your ass.

You defended the whole deal. Nik and I said the years were ridiculous. I'm glad to see you've finally come around.
