Knicks and Stoudemire working on 5-year deal worth nearly $100 million, sources say. Another team chasing Amar'e believes he's off board.

If they don't get Lebron they're screwed. If this is their big free agent splash what a failure off season.

Now obviously this move is too attract LBJ. I expect Miami, new Jersey. And Chicago to turn up heat on Bosh.

They better get a top tier PG or playmaker otherwise Amar'e is going to be fairly pedestrian.

At worst I think the move is OK. We definitely want to attract LeBron and rumor has it he wanted the Cavs to trade for Amare at the deadline.

But in Amare we're getting a top big man in this league and even if we don't sign LeBron, we have plenty of flexibility to make other moves. Tony Parker and 'Melo are rumored to be interested in the Knicks, too.

Why aren't LA going after Bosh?

Apparently not ... "James has vetoed deals Ferry would have made over the past few years.

Meanwhile, the acquisitions of Larry Hughes, Mo Williams, Shaquille O'Neal and Antawn Jamison all have been made at James' behest, sources say."

The Lakers' move in silence. They very well could be going after Bosh. Nobody saw the Artest signing coming in advance. Nobody saw the Gasol trade coming in advance. The Lakers' have been rumored in a Jack/Bosh for Odom/Bynum swap. They're good @ keeping their shit covered.

It would be great for LA and and a big FU to all these teams that created huge space to sign Bosh, Wade, LeBron, and might end up with nothing. lmao

I don't think a lot of Lakers' fans are fond of that deal. We lose out on our biggest strength outside of Kobe Bryant, our length.

Bosh and Pau seem nice together, but I don't think Bosh would settle for being 3rd on the chain of command. Also, both are natural PF's. I don't think many Lakers' fans are fond of the idea of Gasol playing full-time center. The only reason I'd like this deal because it keeps the rumored Dream Team from coming to reality in Miami.

Who knows, maybe they can pull this trade off, though? I mean, they basically told Fisher to take $2.5 million or pack his shit. Fish says he's ready to move on from the Lakers', but I think every one in America is calling his bluff. However, getting Jack makes Fish much more expendable.

I doubt Ferry had the assets to acquire Amar'e. I also doubt LeBron would have vetoed any deal that would have brought in a legitimate all-star big man like Amar'e.

But if LeBron is a fan of Amar'e as has been rumored, good signing or bad signing, it makes the roster much more attractive.

That's a terrible move to offer a guy who has never been his team's best player.

It's too early to tell. If this $100M brings in another key free agent: LeBron, Wade, Bosh, then it will definitely be worth it. That remains to be seen, but to say it's a terrible move is premature because this move is based on other factors.

If Amar'e was really worth $100M there is a good chance that he still might not be the best player on his team since he's playing with a two-time MVP and Hall of Fame point guard. If Wade and LeBron both sign together, Wade won't be the best player on his team but he's certainly worth $100M.

No matter what happens now, Knicks still won't have any rebounding. Once Knicks miss out on the big 3, I wouldn't be surprised to see them try to build a conventional team by getting a Biedrins and trying to sign a few depth pieces.
