Such an ugly trade, I want no part of Deng. I may consider it if we give up Rudy instead of Bayless, but still, I don't like the thought of Deng.

Well You could trade an income Deng, Rudy, our two last years rooks, Camby, Rudy and Miller and take on CP3 Okafor and Posey.

Relieving them of Okafor and Posey while giving them a rental/mentorship of Miller, Camby manning the middle for two years, Deng and a roll of the dice on Rudy, Pendergraph, Mills and Cunningham.

    Chicago gets:

    Bayless, Przybilla

    Chicago gives:

    Deng

    Portland trades:

    Incoming Deng

    Portland gets:

    Okafor

    Portland trades:

AMEC, Camby, Rudy, Pendergraph, Cunningham, Mills + Cash + Picks + Euros for CP3 and Posey.

I almost had the math worked out using Storyteller's website (it was within a couple hundred K or less) when I cleared my calculator.

    I'm pretty sure it works.

    Portland:

    PG: Paul/Johnson
    SG: Roy/Williams
    SF: Batum/Babbit/Claver
    PF: LMA/Freeland
    C: Oden

Bench = utter garbage MLE is desperately needed for a Big man.

    But OMFG starting line up!

    NOH isn't bad either:

    PG: Miller/Collison
    SG: Rudy/corpse of Peja
    SF: Deng
    PF: West
    C: Camby

That's a competitive team actually. It could be better then the CP3 version. Saves an ass ton of cap space

Talk about irresponsible reporting by ESPN radio.

That was an unsubstantiated rumor (trolling, most likely) by an anonymous poster on the OREGONLIVE forums.

This works. Dunno if either Portland or NO should do it, though.

Why does NO want Deng? He costs more than Okafor!

You guys know that after this season, NO will actually be under the cap. Loading up on heavy contracts is not what they want.

Why would they want Batum AND Deng? Batum to play SG? I can see that. That team might be pretty sick on defense.

    Portland left with:

    Paul/Johnson
    Roy/Williams
    Cunningham/Babbit/Claver
    LMA/Freeland
    Oden/MLE guy

Hmm, Intriguing, but again why Deng AND Batum...?

I don't know if your trade works. Where's Okafor?

Because they prefer Deng to Okafor?

The thing that doesn't make sense to me here is, if they are willing to take on Deng's salary, they should be willing to take on Aldridge's instead. And for us, trading LMA makes a whole lot more sense than trading Batum, since we are getting Okafor back.

Like someone else posted this was a rumor on O-live from a troll. I think actually the Bulls have a trade of Deng for Dampier not Joel but I'm just guessing.

Okafor would be replacement for Camby. He doesn't play PF, does he?

Okafor? Hmmm, sorta, but he's really just an undersized center, his skill away from the basket (and mobility) don't really make him well suited to chase around the modern game's 4s

Hmm. I'd been thinking of Okafor as a PF for some reason, but I guess he has been playing C for the Hornets.
