Chicago is a little less fucked with Boozer now. The West just got weaker with Boozer & Amare moving East.

I've never been a Boozer fan.

LOL @ Chicago if all they end up in this free agency is Carlos Boozer.

Nobody is talking about the contract extension that Durant signed. 5 years, 85 million. Nice deal for the Thunder. I love this kid's game. Hopefully it has a opt out option in 2014 when all of our players pretty much are off the books :]

there are still alot of free agents that could help the bulls... like RJ or mike miller... then theyd have a core of rose - rj/miller - deng - boozer - noah... that would be solid.

That is depressing. I was hoping we could sign him. I wonder if the team, come 2014, would be willing to have a quiet off-season and have a mediocre year for a shot @ Durant the next off-season?

Last I read over @ LG, they're still working shit out with Fish.

No word on Barnes, don't have the money for Korver and Bell is unlikely.

The closer it gets, the more I think LBJ is going to Miami. Why else would he have a 1-hour long special on ESPN during prime time to announce his decision? If he says Miami, there will be hundreds of questions about why he picked Miami, about playing with Bosh and Wade, about having a team with 3/5 all-star starters, etc...

He's a media-whore, that's why he wants to do this.

And I really think Miami is the least likely option, and I don't know how good they can be with those 3 max guys. They'll have no cap flexibility, a roster of 5 players (unless they trade Beasley to either Cleveland or Toronto, then it's 4), and I don't think you can get 9 guys to play for the minimum salary, even if they're playing with 3 of the best players in the NBA.

I still think Chicago is the most attractive. Signing Boozer gives them that offensive post presence they've lacked for forever, they have the best PG in the Eastern Conference, they'll have a great frontcourt and still have depth. And they should still have the MLE, which they could use to nab someone like Mike Miller. We'll see though, but if he goes to Miami, I hope that team fails miserably.

Lebron apparently bought a house already in Miami and rented out 25 hotel rooms.

The Super Team has been completed.

I also heard they offered a 5 year deal to Mike Miller. How they still have money, I have no idea.

    They also want Haslem back.

Well, good thing we're not in the east!

New York and Cleveland got owned.

It's hard to filter out what's real and what isn't. These guys are throwing out hints to the media and manipulating 'sources' left & right. We'll know in about 6 hours.

Re: Free Agency Watch Thread (Lakers sign Blake, will pursue Bell after signing Fishe

Shannon Brown opted out of his contract for next season in an effort to test the free agency market.

But as the Los Angeles Times reported Thursday, Brown could be a Laker again.

"Their next priority is to sign Derek Fisher and then Brown," Mike Bresnahan wrote. "Brown, 24, ... has not drawn intense interest elsewhere, perhaps because he averaged only 4.9 points and shot 39.3 percent in the playoffs. The Lakers are somewhat interested in bringing him back, but Fisher is their first concern."

It's possible Brown could be a player the Heat might try and scoop up on the cheap to fill out their roster if LeBron James enters the fold. For now, Brown seems to be getting little serious interest elsewhere.

Jordan Farmar will likely head elsewhere in free agency.

Derek Fisher is not yet locked up for next season. Shannon Brown could return, but he opted out of his contract to test the free-agency market.

    Enter Javaris Crittenton.

From Mike Bresnahan of the Los Angeles Times: "Free-agent guard Crittenton is not on the Lakers' summer-league roster because he is still recovering from foot surgery. Crittenton was originally drafted by the Lakers in 2007 and could be an inexpensive backcourt option."

It would appear the Lakers would only need one more guard if either Brown or Fisher does not return, as the Lakers agreed to a deal with PG Steve Blake earlier this week.

Blake would likely take Farmar's spot at backup PG if Fisher returns.

give Javaris a camp invite then. I forgot he was injured

Anyways, Miami is looking scary if they add Lebron. They might get Mike Miller too. And they want Haslem back and have bird rights (I believe) for Q-Rich.

They could end up with a roster like this:

    pg:
    sg: Wade, Miller
    sf: Lebron, Richardson
    pf: Bosh, Haslem
    c:

They can find ring chasers to fill out the point guard and center positions. With two potential MVP candidates in Lebron and Wade, alongside Bosh, who is one of the best power forwards in the league, their center and point guard won't be asked to do much anyways. Once again, we're lucky we're in the west.

Jason Williams might re-sign with them. PGs would be Chalmers/JWill

I don't think they have any birds rights, since they have to renounce them in order to get cap space.

There's a way to use cap space and birds rights, but it is more complicated.
