What makes our team better, Chris Paul without Nic Batum or Tony Parker with Nic Batum?

If we can get him on an extension, I'd just as soon have TP and Nic. I know CP3 is better than TP. Just would prefer to see Batum stay, so I'd take a downgrade at PG to keep him.

This is a situation where you can't lose. CP is good enough to let you forget about Batum. Parker is a PG that would fit into the system that we have and would be a perfect compliment to Batum. Wither way you can't lose. If it came down to management HAVING to choose between wither player I wouldn't care on the choice, I would be happy regardless.

Batum is nice, but in reality, he is nothing but a role player.

CP3 is the best PG in the league. You simply make that deal

What if we could get CP3 AND Peja? We know Peja is that much better than Batum ;)

Batman has potential to be more than a role player (the #4 pick was offered for him). This kid is already a role player and loaded with potential. But I agree, Paul isn't about potential, he is a proven NBA star and top 3 PG in the league . . . you make the trade for Paul.

    Paul. Pretty easily.

I like Batum and would really like to see Parker on our team, but... Chris Paul would be incredible.

Is this really a question? CP3.

Batum is so overrated on this forum it's tough to take some folks seriously.

    Bang on.

I'd give up Batum in 1 second to get CP.

Paul, Oden (maybe) LMA and Roy. Oh dear oh dear.

It almost hurts to think about.

It seems that too many posters here have forgotten the superstars are what win in this league. NOT a bunch of good players. Batum and TP are good players. CP3 is a GREAT player and a superstar. Without a doubt you take CP3 over Batum and TP. It isn't close, and I'm a HUGE Batum fan.

    Agreed.

You can't replace a truly great player with two pretty good players, which is all Tony Parker and Nicolas Batum are at this point. Batum may get there, but I'd rather get CP3 now than have to wait for that development.

Fair enough. Apparently I have over valued Batum. I could go either way really, there's no question Paul is better than Parker. I just thought Batum would make the difference on the talent gap. It would leave a serious void at the 3, not sure Matthews is a starter at that position. It's a problem I'd be willing to have though.

LA has one SUPERSTAR on their roster. And a bunch of good players in a good system. Superstars win in this league. Unless it's stars that win. Unless it's systems that win. Unless it's TEAMS that win. Etc. There's more than 1 way to win in the league.

As much as I hate to admit it, Pau Gasol is more than a "good" player. He has proved to be a top PF in this league, and one of the leagues best players.

gotta agree there. I used to have LMA and Gasol almost on the same level.. Not sure if it was LMA's plateu or Pau's Play that widened that gap for me, but I sure was wrong. Pau is a top level PF right now.

Sorry, yeah, I don't mean to downgrade Pau at all. But Parker is more than just a "good" player as well, has proven to be a top PG in the league, a Finals MVP and championship experience.

I think it comes down to how one defines "superstar". If you define "superstar" as one of the top 3 players in the league at his position, I think we would find that almost all of the titles in the last couple decades have been won by a team with 2 superstars.
