i remember reading on here maybe about a month back that he was supposed to start running july 15th(today) and would hopefully be cleared for basketball activity august 15th? does anybody remember hearing that or was i just dreaming?and if i wasnt dreaming, anybody got any info?
I haven't heard anybody give a firm date for anything. Frankly I'm kind of glad the team isn't engaging in the constant PR bullshit that they used in with Greg's injuries in the past. Nobody needs/wants their rehab followed like they're in some kind of perverse reality show.
I agree that the media shouldn't be watching him daily, but it would be nice to get his progressing numbers, and a direct media observation every week or two to verify those numbers. Yes, I'm more suspicious than in the past, but as we enter the 4th season of this dependence on failed vague promises, the public wants some kind of monitoring of the training regimen.
as long as he is ready come training camp i think the public will get over not having bi-weekly updates in the middle of the summer... not a big deal.
We've heard that every season. This is his Season Number 4. What's the definition of "ready?" The same as in the past? Completely out of shape compared to his teammates, trying to play his way into shape, and injuring himself again? Let's hear details as to how "ready" he is...more specific words than "ready," like numerical targets and whether he has achieved them, every couple of weeks.
who gives a shit about numerical targets? i care about the season, i care about results. how specific and detailed his training updates are during the summer are insignifcant. whether or not he meets numerical targets won't matter if his knee shatters half way through the season, will it? i'd like to hear updates just to pass the time, but life will certaintly move on without them.
We've heard that every season and it has failed. Time to stop trusting the failed method and try a new method. Suddenly waking up in September (both him, and us watching him) hasn't worked for 3 years, so why will it work now? He (and we) should try bearing down earlier, like right now. Does it hurt anyone to find out whether he's progressing numerically, or is there something to hide? What are his dead lifts? Is he doing squats? What kind? What are you afraid of disclosing? That his progress is too slow?
you're completely wrong. in the past we got a ton of updates about how he was progressing, and it didn't amount to jack shit.
It will or will not work regardless of the news. His health and progress are not related, in any way, shape or form - to the news reports you crave. What next - should we get a daily report about the number of Bananas coach Nate eats each morning - and analyze the correlation to the ability to get out of the first round in the playoffs?
I don't remember any numbers. Can you show me a link? If the same thing (major injury) happens this season, will you be here next summer, still advocating the same-o- same-o? After how many years of this should we get interested in exactly how he's doing in the summer? Edit: If only the game were played in water. He has less than 3 months to evolve from amphibian to reptile.
If it were agreed that bananas have caused Nate to miss almost all of his 3-year career, then yes, I would like to know whether he's eating them. Apples and oranges !!!!
That's crazy. The CBA clearly prohibits head-coaches from eating Apples for breakfast. Why do you think there is a lockout looming?
I responded to about 3 posts there sequentially. I should have used quotes to sort them out. Aside from the analogy to apples and oranges analogies (is that an analogy squared?), there is another thread going on this same subject. http://sportstwo.com/threads/164633-Greg-Oden
You didn't watch last season did you? I mean clearly not. GO looked far more ready to plan then Roy for instance.
Besides didn't someone say GO and Roy were both tops for work outs thus far this summer? I read it either on here or maybe Blazersedge. No I don't have a link.
When history repeats itself 2-3 times, most people would say, let's monitor more closely this time. Or maybe it's just me...I have to leave. (Prepare for history to repeat.)
