Per Wheel, it's a real possibility.

Yeah he was a beast, but he wasn't really a guy known for his footwork or offensive moves. What exactly would he have to teach our bigs, aside from "hustle?" I don't hate the idea, but I'm not sure I love it.

Yep but the other thing is he is also was a smart player, and a player who played his position undersized. The fundamentals he could teach would go a long ways with this team if they listened.

Margarat Cho's numbers show that he has a lot of upside as an assistant. Also, we can sign him with our imaginary cap space.

Fundamentals, I guess, especially on the defensive end. Hell, if he could teach Greg not to foul on every possession, that'd be enough.

A ton. He was one of the best position defenders/rebounders in the league, which is the basis that all of the rest of your basketball skills rest on. He was also a kick ass defender who scouted his opponents well. Something Lamarcus could use for sure. Lamarcus has a lot of tools, but the biggest one he doesn't use is his head. Defensively he lets guys get to their strong side/hand and take the shot they want to take. He will challenge it, but half of defense is knowing your opponents and turning them away from their strong side.

A lot of people seem to have forgotten Buck was a 20 point per game scorer before he joined Clyde and the rest of that wrecking crew. He took one for the team.

Our starting Power Forward has no big need for offensive moves or footwork... he does, however, need some help rebounding. Just a thought.

Sure. Like I said, I don't hate the idea, I'm just not sure I like it.

His business must not be doing well. He's in construction, so I guess I answered my own question.

Maybe we can do a heart transplant from Buck to LMA? A soft hearted big man coach would be fine if LMA suddenly became a BEAST defender/rebounder. I do think Buck couldn't hurt. Not sure how much he will help. I'm also not sure how many big man coaches there are who are A) better and B) willing to come to Portland.

Sure would be nice if he could transform Cunningham into Buck the Second. About the same size I believe.

A-fucking men. He also needs to teach him to not get injured. It's clearly a mental thing ;)

What are you talking about? Buck was a featured offensive player during his Nets days. He had plenty of skills and ability. Came to the Blazers with Drexler, Porter and Duck, and to help the team changed his game to be a good rebounder and one of the better defenders in the game.

I would love Buck to join the team. As well as being a great player he was a leader among his peers.

Not a bad thought; Buck would be undersized now-a-days (6'8" 235 pounds), but he was strong and hard-nosed.

Would he wear his goggles on the bench?
