I'm commenting about a GM hire on an NBA message board that has about 100 people on it. Didn't realize what a big deal that was.
Can any board geeks dig out the comments when the Blazers hired KP? I wonder if the same people said he'd never been a GM, etc....
Learn to compartmentalize, genius. I'll try to simplify it for you. He's inexperienced. Yes. I get it. It's true. You're right. Nobody's disputing that fact. You don't like his inexperience. Understandable. Makes perfect sense. I even agree with you here. But nobody--not Paul Allen, not Larry Miller, not Rich Cho, not Nate McMillan, not Tod Leiweke, not Steve Gordon, NOBODY has ever said anything about rebuilding. To assume that Rich Cho is going to take us back to draft picks and cap space is nothing short of idiocy.
In your world of over-generalizing everyone, yes, I believe that's the only other option. If not, name me someone who doesn't fall into either the 'inexperienced' or 'retread' category?
KP already put work in in the 2006 draft before he was fired. It was an easy choice. Too bad the Blazers had to ruin it.
Accomplished GM currently employed by another team? Don't you see them leaving posts to join other teams every year, noknobs? Come on now!
We've all heard the reports by now that it may have been KP and his agent who had to ruin it, by breaking Paul Allen's Focker circle of trust. Who the F knows who ruined it, but KP is gone, move on.
