The Clippers do have legit interest in McGrady and are scheduled to work him out Tuesday. As Clips general manager Neil Olshey told ESPNLosAngeles.com’s Ramona Shelburne last week: "Tracy and I have a good relationship. We've known each other for a long time. He and Baron [Davis] have a good relationship [and] we obviously have a need for playmaking and scoring on the wings.” But sources say that news of the workout being made public was also intended to let the Bulls know that McGrady does have other options, since Chicago is where those close to McGrady say he’d love to land.

It would have been nice if he have showed this interest a decade ago.

Hahaha I know right. But some people are glad he didnt come here. But thats prolly because of all the injuries and stuff. But theres no telling if he woulda went thru the same thing here, since you cant control injuries and whether the organization puts a team together that can get out of the first round of the playoffs

McGrady's just burned too many bridges. He wants to start, which is fine, but then you have to find a contender with an established group of vets who could actually use him. Who is that? Miami has Wade, Celtics have Allen, Bulls are too young, Nuggets have Smith, Atlanta has Johnson, Orlando is already in the Tax and he's not better than Redick, Lakers have Bryant. I mean, where's he going to go?

He can start at the 3, but hes not turnin into iverson because iverson got to the point where he had to check his ego and sign with anyone that was willing with the belief that he could act like he has a fuckin head. I havent really heard anything about Tmac demanding he start or trouble with him in the locker room.

McGrady stunk it up offensively for Mike D'Antoni. His efficiency has been awful the last 3-4 years, and amazingly, has been steadily going downhill since he was 23 years old. As far as I know, he's never been a great locker room guy, so I doubt there would be huge intangible benefits to simply having him around to compete with James Johnson as the 4th forward.

I doubt he can create his shot much anymore, and he's never been a great shooter. I think we ought to pass.

TMac is two years removed from a 21pt/5reb/6ast season.

The following season he was hurt and put up 16/4/5.

If he's healthy and hasn't completely lost his athleticism, he could still be a 20/4/4 or better player. And if he's healthy, he might actually win the starting SG job outright.

The guy played 60 games over two seasons, about half of them after being traded to the Knicks. Jordan wasn't exactly great when he came back from playing baseball. It took some time to get his game back. Maybe those 30 games in NY and the offseason to workout and rest up his injuries is enough to get back on track.

    That's all I'm saying.

I love the idea of TMac not having too much pressure to dominate in a game. I'm with Denny, this guy can still probably put up 17/5/4 if he meshes with the team and within the offense.

Rosenthall i was merely responding to SST's statement about a lot of teams havin 2 guards so where would he go, and I was sayin that he can play the 3. If he shows that he can still be 17/5/4 and not be detrimental in the locker room then I say work out a deal wit him thats only guaranteed (or somethin) if he doesnt cause any trouble like they did wit Iverson in philly.

Jordan immediately after his return wasn't great, but was about a hundred times better than TMac has been. The guy is done, but he doesn't act like it.

That's really my biggest problem with him. If he had the self-awareness to understand his limitations, he'd be useful. But carrying on the whole charade of him "wanting" to play here, rather than "this is pretty much his only option" underscores that he's still got a pretty massive ego.
