During Team USA training camp Tuesday, David Lee injured his right middle finger. According to ESPN's Chris Sheridan, it was a significant enough injury that Lee left Las Vegas for Oakland, Calif., to be examined by the Warriors' medical staff. The severity of the injury is not yet known. If it ends up keeping Lee out for several weeks, it's possible he won't quite be up to speed once training camp starts up for the Warriors. If Lee is unable to go to start the season, expect Brandan Wright to move up the depth chart at power forward for Golden State. Source: ESPN
i'm not a big fan of players playing for their national team...i mean, yeah, it's good for the experience and whatnot, but as far as getting injured or just plain exhausted, i don't know if the risk is worth the reward. i heard a lot of people blaming Biedrins' shitty play last year on being too exhausted from being the man on the latvian team. i dont know. we have two of our best three players playing with the USA squad right now, and we have enough injuries as it is. maybe i'm being pessimistic
Also, did anybody watch the televised practices for the USA team yesterday?? Pretty entertaining...they mic'd up different players, and it was completely uncut/uncensored. Steph was mic'd up, walked over to Lee, who said something along the lines of "I fuckin disclocated the shit out of it" he sounded like he was more annoyed than in pain
Annnnnnnnnnnnd, just saw on twitter: "@SpearsNBAYahoO David Lee out 4-6 weeks with finger injury and will not play for USA @ Worlds, Lee will not need surgery."
That's a relief. No surgery, only 1.5 months, he'll be back for training camp, he better just take it easy and rehab it well.
Lol did you see David Lee and Gerald Wallace talking shit about "LB" (Larry Brown) and all the stupid drills he makes them do in practice.
haha no, i missed that part...i'm gonna see if they're re-airing it again...it was definitely interesting
It was in the "Steph Curry mic'ed up" video from the first day of practices (it was even before Lee injured his finger).
First thing I thought -- was David Lee giving Cohan the one finger salute good-bye? Second thought -- David Lee was invited while Anthony Randolph was not.
