Standing pat means they're sticking with a club that has 60+ win and championship potential. Portland has an enviable blend of young studs and solid vets. Barring an unusual amount of injuries ravaging the roster again, they're one of the top squads in the league with excellent size, lead and complimentary talents, and plenty of depth. Come the mid-season trade deadline, hopefully Joel's rehab will have gone smoothly and they'll have a starting quality 5 with an expiring contract to peddle. Other teams will be out of contention and done with their season ticket drives so more likely to part with assets... maybe Portland lands the PG of the future so many pine for.

Offensively I can't wait to see how Miller and Oden blend with whats already in place. They should be hooking up regularly with quick strike ally oops as the D focuses on Brandon and LA. Defensively their frontcourt has so much length and shotblocking, we should be seeing teams settling for jumpers. I foresee lots of blowouts and one of the biggest point differentials in the league. They just need better luck with their collective health

I like one and three. Conley might surprise you and help to resign the man in your sig who I can see you value dearly ;)

You can resign Greg anyways. He's a restricted FA after this year, so you can match any and all offers he gets.

I consider this plan A because I refuse to believe Chris Paul will ever be here until it actually happens, and I prove to myself I am not having an acid flashback. :)

I think that's a pretty fair deal. Bayless will probably emerge as the best player in the deal, IMO. But I guess I'm not as big of a Landry fan as some are.

I don't quite get why we'd want Landry though. He's much too talented to be playing 12 mins behind LMA, and he can't play SF or center.

Lou Amundson as a backup 4? He is annoying on other teams but might not be as bad on your own team lol.

Perhaps there'd be some use for him if Aldridge was moved in some kind of deal? LMA's BYC status makes him somewhat tougher to move, but not impossible.

Injuries happen. Also we could then send LMA on for an asset NOH likes.

Sure. Neither is a pure point guard, both have some passing ability. Sacramento already considers Evans to be their possible point guard of the future. I think Bayless would be a great fit next to Evans...defend point guards, be more of a scoring guard alongside Evans.

No, not a Kings fan -- though I confess a soft spot for the Peja-Webber-Bibby-Christie teams of the early aughts -- I am however more than happy to see Rich Cho pluck the useful players from another team if the opportunity ever arises. I rate Landry and Aldridge roughly equal in terms of their impact on the court, but I think Landry is tougher, plays harder on D and is a better scorer (because he has ball-handling and face up ability that Aldridge doesn't). Thompson might be a nice backup 4-5 to have around and could fill in as a starter if more injuries befall Greg or Camby (and when Camby retires), lastly I like Udrih as a backup point guard who could probably play well off of Brandon because of his better than average shooting and the fact that he's a pretty good at the pick and roll.
