Jay-bay is absolutely a talented scorer, but as a point guard he's pretty much a work in progress, and this team already has the two guard spot pretty well sewn up.
It does? I still want to see Sergio consistently doing his thing before I am willing to accept this, unless you call Roy a PG. EDIT - I see I misread it. Forget it, you are right.
With Broy's injury history I think we need a third. I believe it will be Bayless over Sergio very soon. Sergio is the better PG, but give me a combo guard who plays tough on the ball defense anyday. Sergio is just buying the time until Bayless takes over his PT.
Batum is a player with that dreaded "P" word- potential. He may or may not pan out. But he has good tools. Especially on the defensive end. He's a complimentary player only. But that's no shame with Roy, LA & Oden on the floor. He'll probably never be an all-star, but doesn't need to be for what we need from him. Bayless is a fail. He can drive. And that's about it. Some teams are all ready on to his game and trap him. He hasn't, isn't, and shan't ever be an NBA PG. And he's too short to be a consistent and effective SG. He's one of those unfortunate tweeners. Bad genes I guess. His only value is off the bench in wide open games. We lose nothing if we lose him. He may not even get a second NBA contract- but it is about a 40% certainty. There's a reason why no NBA teams are asking for him.
