Heh, by that logic, obviously Adam Morrison was as good he needed to be for LA to win two titles. How do we structure the team to nullify Adam Morrison? Bynum was no reason they won in the playoffs in 08-09 and while he was good in 09-10, he was hardly a major force. The Lakers won because Kobe and Gasol are both tremendous and they get just enough contribution from everyone else. That really says nothing about how a team must be constructed to beat them except "be more talented than the Lakers."
Right...I don't think you were watching the playoffs. Bynum averaged 17 MPG on 11 PER two years ago, 24 MPG on 17 PER last post season, and he's not exactly a great defensive presence. When they beat the Magic (And Howard), Bynum was hardly a factor. The Lakers dominate the boards....because the Lakers have good rebounders, at every position. I'd also like to note the Celtics made the finals twice, and actually won once, starting a 6-10 Center.
Good cheerleaders are tough to find, and the Lakers have the best. I'd like you to not understate his contributions to LA's title teams.
Bynum was absolutely integral for the Lakers to beat the Celtics. Even with a bad wheel his size allowed the Lakers to dominate inside.

Yeah, Bynum allowed the Lakers to "dominate" inside. The guy wasn't even playing against Perkins in game 7 and still put up a stinker.
Camby will be 36 next season until March, and he was very productive last season and even OK in the playoffs. Okafor has played 82 games 3 straight seasons. What good is a bigger Oden if he is always injured?
I agree with you Bynum isn't super impressive. I will say that Gasol has the seeming length of a 7 foot 10 freak of nature that guy is looooong. I still think length of Pau and Odom combined with even a sub-par performance by Bynum resulted in domination of the glass from tips and tap outs etc.
What good is Roy if he's injured? Roy's injuries are a lot more chronic looking to me knee joints, ligaments, talus bone. Then Oden's injuries. People have the funniest attitude toward Oden and his injuries. The real question should be is Oden fucking cursed!
All of Oden's major injuries have been in his knees, and two have been season ending. If you can't see how that's different from Roy's...
Gee, that couldn't be because he has literally played 1 full season out of the 3 he's been paid, could it? And that doesn't even include his embarrassing playoff performance against Yao while Roy shredded Artest and Battier with a PER of 25.9 in that 6 game series. Roy has made two straight All-NBA teams and three All-Star games. Oden made the sophomore squad on All-Star Saturday, but was too hurt to play. Valuing Oden over Roy seems idiotic to me (to borrow your line for attacking people for their differing opinion).
Well you're wrong and Checkmate, to borrow a line from GOD. I'm aware of their relevant injury histories. I also note the nature of each. I worry more about Roy's you can call me an idiot or crazy and I'm fine with that. I'm certainly wanting everyone on the team healthy.
I do see how they are different. Most of Roy's injuries going back to college are related to joints and ligaments in his knees as opposed to bones. 3 of oden's four injuries since college have been bone related. Now it's possible he has a congenital bone defect, but this hasn't been proposed or proven by the medical staff. As such these are freak accidents. Roy's hamstring, Talus bone and knee injuries are far more chronic and to me worrying for that reason. It could be Oden will continue to have freak injuries. I certainly wish Oden and Roy the best of health. Roy's longevity concerns me more then Oden's. Also as I've said elsewhere why would NOH want Oden over Roy? For one year at 5.5 million? After that they have to match other teams offers which would be in the 11+ million range if Oden is healthy, conversely if he is so injury riddled why would they want him for that reason? Seems like a lose, lose proposition for Oden. The one advantage of taking Roy over Oden from NOH (not CP3's position) would be they have him locked up for longer then Paul who can leave in two years. I don't think NOH should want EITHER Roy or Oden due to expense.

I can't wait tell we find out news monday. My hopes of CP3 are dwindling the more I think about it. Although they were small to begin with because I don't want to give up Oden.
^ Why don't you want give up Oden ? The dude is a bust. He was picked in front of Durant who is the 3rd best player in the league behind James and Bryant. Oden even when healthy is a decent center at best. You'll get the same production in Okafor as you would with Oden.
