I'm not saying that I truly believe it's his Portland friends, I'm just spitballing.

Whoa, small world. Perhaps BGrantFan and PapaG are neighbors. That would be wacky.

Maybe that would explain the amazing similarities of the two, being so close to each other and all.

Maybe, but how many times does Oden have to get injured before we call him "injury-prone"? Personally, I think he's already there. I am hoping that he has a healthy season, but it almost seems like too much to ask at this point.

That said, nothing would make me happier than to see Oden finally have a breakout season.

Did you peek into Greg's windows to see how he was living?

He most certainly had been injury prone so far in his career. It does seem, however, based on what we have been told, that these were mostly freak accidents/bad luck - rather than chronic problems - but only time will tell.

Well if part of maturing is eating right and taking care of your body, that would help reduce injuries.

Problem is, nobody knows when you're being sarcastic, sincere, or *edited*.

It's all good, though, Papa. I've learned to put all these things into perspective. Something about a grain of salt.

The thought never occured to me. Must not be in my DNA, like it's apparently in your DNA.

Used to see him when out walking the dog while the kids were riding their bikes, though.

My thoughts on Oden being a bust or not have to do with Walton. He, like Oden was constantly injured in his first three seasons. He showed flashes of brilliance on the court as Oden has but just could not stay healthy. It was obvious Walton was a major talent. I think it is obvious Oden is a major talent also, but just has not been healthy. Walton then had his break out and made history. I sense that Greg will follow this path once he gets that injury free season in. Of course I would like him to miss all of the future injuries that Walton suffered. But it is too early to call Oden a bust when you compare him to Walton who is now a HOFer.

Oden can not be compared to real bust like Martin, Olowakandie (sp) or Kwame. Those guys were never dominant like Greg was in HS and his only year of college. Those guys had bust written all over them and it had nothing to do with injuries, they just were not good. Comparing him to Bowie could be fair. Bowie had talent and actually had a great rookie year. Of course his medical file was a major red flag that was over looked. Oden's only red flag in his medical file was a broken wrist. Hardly a precurser to a couple of knee injuries. I am still thinking that Odens career can take off like Waltons did, but hopefully without the future injuries.

I'll start calling Oden Injury prone when LA fans stop saying all of Bynums injury's were freak accidents and he is injury prone.
