Their salaries don't match, but if the deal were to feature those two players for each other and fillers would you do it? I personally would. I think Love in two years is an All-Star and his overall game is more rounded than Lamarcus' Discuss.
So far i have not seen anything from Love suggesting Allstar. I think LMA is the more well rounded one, and I think he also compliments Greg better. Love is more physical. That is about it.
Love? An All-Star? Your Trippin If LMA can ever step it up in the Rebound Department, Love doesn't come close to being as well rounded I'd say your in Love
Love is the superior rebounder, by far. But we have Oden, Camby and Przybilla. Love is a decent outside shooter. But LaMarcus is probably better. Love is a decent passer. So is Aldridge. Love is a useless defender. Aldridge is an excellent and versatile team defender. Love can throw very nice outlet passes. But who on this team would be on the end of them? No. Stick with Aldridge.
There's an article on Love on NBA.com about how he feels more appreciated by Team USA than by Minny. I'd say that was a very bad sign for Team USA. Who have just recalled Javale McGee. Javale McGee! I repeat in incredulity.
Kevin Love = David Lee Though, I think he'd make McMillan go nuts with his lack of defense. I would for the fact that Love is a banger. I'm done with these soft jumpshooting 7-footers.
Hmmm Per 36 minutes FG% LA .495 KL .450 3P% LA .313 KL .330 FTA LA 3.7 KL 5.8 FT% LA .757 KL .815 ORB LA 2.4 KL 4.8 DRB LA 5.4 KL 9.1 TRB LA 7.7 KL 13.8 AST LA 2.0 KL 2.9 STL LA 0.8 KL 0.9 BLK LA 0.9 KL 0.8 TO LA 1.3 KL 2.5 PPG LA 17.2 KL 17.7 I guess I don't get how Love "doesn't come close to being as well rounded"?
I go back and forth in this debate. In a vacuum I like Love a little bit better than LMA, but considering that his major strength (rebounding) overlaps so much with Greg I don't really think he'd be much of an improvement to this team's particular outlook in terms of wins and losses or playoff success. Nevermind the fact that it would be extremely tough to work out a trade given the disparity in their salaries.
Love averages two 3PTA per game. When Love isn't shooting jumpers, he's getting his shot blocked. Love is a good player, but I'll definitely stick with Aldridge. *waits for someone to use PER as the final say*
This is true, but what else is there? I think they are similar players with similar skill sets. Aldridge being a better defender, while Love being a better rebounder. Love is 3 years younger, and IMO, has more upside. Honestly, Aldridge would probably rebound a bit more with worse players, and Love would probably play better defense with better players
Probably. So in the final analysis what's the push to make a trade using one for the other? If LMA was a headcase or clearly wanted out I could see it, but that doesn't appear to be the situation (yet?).
I wasn't trying to discredit your opinion or anything, I just don't think the stats could out-weigh what I've watched with my own two eyes, not to say my opinion if any good!. I just don't feel like Love is the type of player who could be the #3 player on a championship team, and for some reason I think LMA is. I think it's Love's lack of length of defensive abilities that scares me.
The game is changing. PF's now play away from the basket. (See Dirk-Frye-Green) IMO LMA has more lateral quickness and can cover a wider variety of PF's. I think this is a more important asset than people give credit for.
Couldn't disagree more. LMA's still tremendous potential is what I like about him most. Time will tell.. Indeed. LMA can literally guard anyone on the floor and run the court.
