I'm sure Martel is thrilled that this is being reported, since most of the victims of the GRK were prostitutes. Good for Martel that he overcame loosing his mom so early in life. Go Blazers
Over CP3/Deron? Nah. Good kid, would always be a fan of him as a person, would love to see him succeed, but let's not kid ourself, that draft was a big, big, mistake.
Agreed. This story first came to light back when Webster was drafted. It's tragic - no 2 ways about it - but it has nothing to do with what happened on draft day.
That's the implication. Growing up with an absentee father and those kind of stories about his mother........I do feel sorry for the kid.
It appears that he has turned out very well. He seems to be an upstanding guy, and is now making millions of dollars a year. Great job by both he and his grandmother.
http://www.nba.com/video/channels/t...0910_por_top10.nba/index.html?ls=iref:nbahpt1 #10! I'm not saying drafting Tell wasn't a mistake, I'm just saying it makes me feel better about the situation to know that he stayed in the NW for a while near his saint of a Grandmother.
Well we got more out of Tell than we would have got out of the fan favorite at the time, Gerald Green.
Do you think we could trade Babbitt for Martell? I initially thought the trade was good, we dumped salary and had a player with more upside. After following Luke for a few months and with Rudy now likely not participating I'm concerned about our backup 3. Martell was our best wing defender when Nic was out and when Nic was healthy Martell allowed us to keep one defender on the court at all times. If this team is healthy and an outside contender Martell could have given us valuable minutes this upcoming season. I don't expect anything from Luke this year.
