This week it has been a show with just Dwight Jaynes. Chad is on vacation, and Antonio is doing a Blazers related tour, so Dwight is handling the whole show. And oh my god, it is brutal.
There is a reason I do not watch that Sportstalk show - or whatever comes on after Blazer games. They are all very, very baaaad.
YES! Not that the MSP is easy to listen to, but if I wanted to listen to my uncle talk about sports, I'd call him up and ask him about the 69 Huskies and he'd ramble on for hours. It's like Dwight is trying to pull 15 minutes worth of show, into 3 hours. At least with Antonio and Chad, they can go off on tangents that aren't just 1 person saying the same thing over and over (granted, it's 3 people saying the same thing over and over).
Just out of curiosity, re: your signature. You are aware that Larry Miller wasn't the one who did the agreement with comcast, right? That was before his tenure here.
I agree. Although the show started going downhill even before Dawson left. Adding Dwight was a huge mistake IMO.
It is over.... Thank God Dwight Jaynes is horrible on the radio. Adds nothing to the program and rambles on and on..
Dwight is a good commentator, but he lacks the radio acumen to keep things flowing nicely when by himself. Letting him try to steer the ship w/o CIP was really bad move.
Ugh. The MSP is awful, but particularly dreadful with just Dwight. But did anyone hear Canzano's show yesterday w/o Canzano? Awful. Every time I tuned in, they were stroking John in his absence for the "story" about Bellotti being struck by Blount. Calling him a "courageous journalist" for breaking the story. Excuse me? A story with a handful of anonymous sources, dredging up an incident from two years ago involving two people who aren't even affiliated with the Ducks' organization anymore? Worth discussing, perhaps, on a slow news day - but pimping Canzano repeatedly for it, in his absence? Even blatantly promoting The Oregonian, saying "you better get this weekend's paper"... blah blah blah. Embarassing. I expect better of John Strong, who on the "annoying meter" is actually somewhere approaching "tolerable."
John Strong is the typically annoying soccer fan "sophistiquite" He probably brings his polo clubs to a jungle juice party.
