I realize Crawford doesn't fill a specific need for us, but he's close friends with Roy and I think he would be an ideal scorer/ball handler off the bench. He's used to the role and I think we could consolidate some of our talent for someone that could help us get further in the playoffs.

I think a bench unit of Crawford, Matthews, Camby and perhaps Cunningham would be very versatile with a high basketball IQ.

    Thoughts?

Crawford would be nice. our bench would be tough with an established scorer like him out there. If we don't start Oden (early in the year) having Crawford and Oden will be a lot for other benches to handle.

I think he proved last year how valuable of a 6th man he can be. And doesnt Atlanta run a similar type of offense? Depending on what we would have to give up I would be on board with making a run at him.

The only question is how much he's expecting in an extension.

The guy is talented but I don't want to overpay for essentially a backup shooting guard. I like Crawford because he can swing between the two guard positions, while Matthews can play sg and sf. This gives us a lot of freedom to move Roy and Miller in and out of the lineup without losing much. I wonder if Bayless, Rudy, and Joel would be enough to entice them.

I think guys with his skills are a dime a dozen. And we already have plenty of guys on this team who can replicate them.

I like Crawford as well for this reason. I think he would play well along side BRoy.

I would do that trade. Atlanta only does it if nobody else is offering anything and Jamal makes a real stink about his extension. Apparently he wants Manu money and with that contract they just gave Johnson there is no way they pay that much for a back up.

Crawford would give us some scoring off the bench that we sorely missed last year. An upgraded version of outlaw. I doubt he would sign and extension with us because there are a lot of players we are going to want to offer money at and I don't think we would really give him as much money as he wants so he would become a one year rental.
I'd like to trade for him but it really depends on who we would be giving up for crawford.

I guess we'll see how committed PA is to winning. I'd offer Crawford something in the range of $8 million per year for four years. If he balks, I would go for $10 million per at around four years, fourth year is a team option.

He'd be 35 by that time. We still need a PGOTF but I think Crawford would be a great combo guard to bring in off the bench to play both guard spots.
