This would make me very happy. Though I'm not looking forward to the mental mistakes Thomas will most likely make this year, I think he simply gives us the best chance to win. It makes the other team have to prepare extra hard. Thomas has the potential to be something really special, better than Dixon as he is already better than him at this point. If Thomas has a good year, I think the Ducks might have another BCS in them. The one team I am worried about is Oregon State who look mighty fine this year as well. Two Oregon teams are the best teams on the west coast (again). Who woulda thunk it?
Oregon State has brutal schedule early... that combined with their usual slow start... could spell trouble for them. TCU on the road and the smurfs on the blue turf... ugh.
Meh, OOC games have really not much of an effect on getting in the Rose Bowl or winning the Pac-10. They aren't a national title contender either way.
you probably know this as you seem to be following recruiting, but next year's club will also have a highly rated soph transfer cornerback from Texas http://rivals.yahoo.com/ncaa/football/recruiting/player-Marcus-Davis-60658 and while I'm with you on being pumped about Randall, their other two QB recruits look pretty decent as well. Both Mariotta and Manziel have flown under the radar with the recruiting sites, but they'll be garnering more scrutiny now in their Sr. years with D1 offers in pocket.... I expect both to see their Scout/Rivals ratings bump up significantly. Mariotta was the back up QB last year to a Sr. who recieved D1 offers and signed with Utah, so this will be his first real time in the spotlight. Yeah, I believe Canzano did a segment about justifying that he wasn't racist for this reason. He said originally that Thomas (the black athlete) was the faster. Then worried he'd sound racist and looked up to see that their HS Senior year 40 times. Thomas was 0.1 seconds faster AND Costa has had 3 majory surgeries on his knee (i think).
