WTF? He was turning into an elite receiver. At least I thought he was.

And Arizona cut Matt Leinart??? Well, I know where HE'LL be going. When will Seattle trade for Reggie Bush? U$C, NFL Division!

He's heading into his tenth season...he's not getting better. He wasn't an "elite" receiver even at his peak...he was a very good #2. He still seems to be a solid #2 type of receiver, so I really don't understand this move. The team must have felt that he wasn't looking good in training camp/pre-season, that he's permanently lost a step.

I hope Seattle does pick up Leinart, and he does tremendously well for them. I don't think he has ever been given a real chance to lead his team, and he still has plenty of talent.

And I am a Cardinals fan.

C'mon bro, Leinart couldn't even beat out Derek-fucking-Anderson. Someone who failed to complete 50% of his passes! Derek Anderson is absolute garbage, and winning the starting QB positions speaks volumes about the player Leinart is. He still feels as though the starting QB spot is 'owed' to him.

Anderson isn't absolute garbage. He's been selected to a Pro Bowl.

The Browns are absolute garbage, not Anderson. He had a ridiculous season under Romeo Crennel, 3800 yards, 30 TDs. They should have made the playoffs that year.

Both are garbage. As a guy who's watched him since he was with us, it's a fair assesment, trust me.

So did Favre in 2008 w/ the Jets.

DA had one awesome year. Since then, teams have adjusted on him and Braylon. He's a QB who posseses a cannon for an arm w/ the shittiest accuracy. But he lacks all the basic skills and tools to actually succeed. He has a below-average QB IQ at best, and he honestly believes he can fit his throws into tight holes even though the receiver is being doubled.

He's an average QB. I'm not saying he's great, but to be elected to a pro bowl isn't something every qb can say.

We will see how he does with a premier WR. Braylon Edwards is straight rubbish compared to Fitzgerald.

No it doesn't. Matt Leinart outplayed Anderson by far. Leinart had a 110.00 quarterback rating in preseason. It speaks volumes about the Cardinal's organization, and coach Wisenhunt, who clearly just wanted a yes man in Anderson. Leinart was cut because he disagreed with Wisenhunt's decision to move forward with Anderson as the starter, and Matt is right on for saying he outplayed everyone. Leinart's biggest problem is no one in the Cardinals organization ever had any faith in him. They never once said, "He is our guy, and we are sticking with him." Leinart being cut has NOTHING to do with his on field play.

At least until this year, there's no reason they should have. Kurt Warner was much, much better.

I won't comment on Anderson over Leinart, though. I didn't watch their preseason performances. I thought he (Leinart) had some encouraging drives last year, the few times he played. I don't think he has a ton of potential, but he might still have a decent career.

Pete Carroll is pulling a Rick Pitino. Who will be his Ron Mercer, Antoine Walker, Walter McCarty, and Reggie Hanson?

I love Derek but he is definitely below average in the NFL. He's the same quarterback he was in college - big guy, amazing arm strength, questionable throws, and a big time tendency to stare down his receivers. There is a reason why people adjusted very well to him. Maybe he will do well because Fitzgerald is out of this world and can make amazing catches and make corners look like dummies, but it's a big dice roll IMO.

Not exactly. He passed on Taylor Mays in the draft, and got rid of Lendale White and Lawrence Jackson. He doesn't seem all that tied to former players.

Exactly. Quite the opposite. However, Mike Williams will take over for Housh, but that's because he outplayed Housh, not because he went to USC. He earned it. I'm excited to watch Big Mike Williams this year.

A guy with all the tools, but is finally at a good playing weight after like 6 years in the NFL.

FUCK Mike Williams. My Titans gave him a chance a couple years ago and he came in at like 260 and wouldn't lose any weight.
