Whenever we read something like this about the current wars, it's always from British media. The American media are 100% controlled by American intelligence agencies. It's so easy if you have the Editor on your side. He hires and fires. No problem.

Exactly. The article is suggesting. Maybe our newspapers want a bit more real proof before making accusations.

Now, that said, I have no doubt that out of all our military people over there fighting there are going to be a few bad apples- there always is. And if true, then I suppose it'll sell some newspapers to report it. However, I do know that the military looks for this kind of stuff and takes the necessary corrective actions.

Because some tantrum-throwing cult leader burning Qurans is SO much more important. Not to mention Sarah Palin's tweets.

Yeah. I just get a tickle in my throat when people state how the State controls the media in this country.

I'll take that bet. Shall we say, $20? Oh yeah, Muslims burn the Bible in in the Middle East all the time...

    You owe me $20.

Do not misunderstand me. War atrocities are to be taken very seriously. Soldiers and others who commit them must be caught and punished. And it is indeed an outrage when it happens. And they should be reported as we have a free press.

My position is that in every war and on every side, such atrocities, unfortunately, exist. In general, there are far fewer committed by our troops than almost any other nation. Overall we have an exceptional military.

I read this in the Army Times almost two weeks before this article was put up on The Guardian. Sure, it's not plastered all over CNN, or Fox News, or MSNBC, but I can't imagine too many publications with closer ties to the government than the Army Times.

(edit): The article in the paper edition talked about the trophies.
