I'm a Ducks fan when it comes to football. Its a family thing. If Gonzaga had a football team, I'd be a fan, but they don't and I'm a fan of college football so I go with what I was taught at an early age to love the Ducks.
I'm just saying. If you can get out of Knoxville with a win, its impressive. I don't care if your Alabama or Oregon. A win is a win on the road, its not a crazy concept to grasp.
It's not impressive when Tennessee is not good. Just as winning "in New York [mecca of basketball]" is not impressive when the Knicks are crap. I think a top-10 team struggling against a mediocre team would be a bad performance. That's not a crazy concept to grasp. Great run there, though. Hopefully Oregon can win going away, as they should.
Comparing the hostility of an SEC football game vs. the hostile NBA games at MSG is like comparing apples to oranges. That said, I'm willing to bet Oregon covers that 13 point spread. Tennessee looks like a young team thats deflated.
College football fans are louder, but the principle is the same in any sport. If "crowd" trumps "talent" (by making a game between very unequally talented teams close), your team is mentally weak.
