Do you have a torrent client like BitTorrent or uTorrent? Also you may want to install Peerblock before you start downloading, which will help block the nosey types who don't like people stealing their software.
You need a program to download and compile the torrents. There are many, I like and use a program called uTorrent. You need to download and install it. There when you are at a bit torrent site and want to download a movie or song or program you click on the download and then torrent program (uTorrent) will start. That is the program you use to will watch the progress of the file you are trying to download. Also you should download and install a program called Peer Block. Always run this when you are downloading torrents. It keeps The Man from tracking you and knowing what you're doing.
Also a couple of other things you need to know. Also sort the list of torrents by Seeders or Leeches instead of by date it was uploaded. Example - Here is a list of movies on Pirate Bay. http://thepiratebay.org/browse/201 these are sorted by date people uploaded them. If you look at the numbers at the far right you will see lots of 1's, 2's even 0's. That means the total number of people who are sharing the movie (or file) that you want. Only one or two people sharing the file you want means it will take a hell of a long time to download. Now look at the list now, I sorted it by Seeders http://thepiratebay.org/browse/201/0/7 The numbers on the far right now take a huge jump. Iron Man 2 is being shared by 24,000 people and another 12,000 are currently downloading it. Because there are so many other people sharing and/or downloading the file means you download it really fast. (FYI really fast for bit torrent means a 2 hour movie should take 2 hours.) Hope this helps.
Thanks for the information! btw, Peer-Block only seems to be compatible with Windows, any Mac alternatives?
