I wonder why he went with the crappy little sapling in the back yard. By the time it has any real branches he'll be done for. If you are going to drop that much coin, fork over a thousand extra and get a mature tree. Those windows would enrage me. The way the light shines through them onto the wall in the last pic looks like a big forced "I'm about to die but really I'm ok!" grin. If it were me I'd tell the architect to tear down the entire gimmicky wall facing the ocean and just put up a wall of windows. I do like the way it's elevated, though. Great way to get the most view possible.
Very true, didn't think about that. Seems like a complete waste and completely contradicts the point of the house. Obviously the gardener wasn't on the same wavelength as the architect. They could either ship in a mature tree or buy some bamboo. That shit grows! I guess I could see that. They look awesome from the inside out but they don't look so good from the outside, in my opinion. I hate the straight-up concrete they used on the base. Reminds me of a parking garage.
