I found a forum for Mac stuff. Saw threads about everything iPhone, but didn't want to join just to ask one question. Wondering if anybody on here knows how to get new wallpapers on my iPhone.

There's an app called Backgrounds that has a ton of them.

You can also go HERE (not on your phone, though) and save them the your computer then sync them through iTunes.

I do. I have always been a Mac guy, so it is cool to have all my stuff able to sync up again the way I want. The Android phone I had was amazing, and I loved it, but I like how my iCal and iTunes sync up. But the most important thing is the facetime calling. I wanted to be able to talk and see my wife and kids on the long ass road trips I go on. We've already used it a couple times.

re: Facetime, does it chat with iChat accounts?

having it with Google Talk and Skype would be the best but I figure you can't enable those?

Not entirely sure what you're getting at here; I know you have an Android agenda, but I wish you'd be more clear about it. :D

Skype and Google Talk both work on the iPhone. Facetime doesn't talk to iChat accounts yet (which is dumb imho).

That's what I was wondering. Kind of stupid for facetime to not chat with computers and vice versa.

re: Skype and Google Talk I was wondering about if Video chatting works, but if it doesn't work with ichat, its not going to do it with skype/google

You can find images on websites the size for the ipod/iphone. Same it on your computer, then email the image to yourself and download it to your iphone. I might be making stuff for SportsTwo soon, I'll take a look at creating some RipCityTwo.com designs.

Oh I see what you're asking: does Facetime work with Skye/Google Talk? Fring does that: http://www.fring.com/download/iphone/ others will likely get on the boat sooner rather than later.

Apple's definitely pushing Facetime as a backdoor way around carriers. Adding it to iPod Touches, the next rev of iPads, and probably iChat too eventually basically means that if you have access to wi-fi, you won't have to use a traditional phone. Certainly, third parties have already done that (Skype, Google Voice) and those already exist (voice-only) on the iDevices. I'm reminded of the MPAA battles ten years ago; it seems like phone companies are on their way out too if they can't figure out how to become more efficient data providers.

I've never used Facetime, but its only good for iphone4 to iphone4, so it can't replace anything since its proprietary. Doesn't even work with previous iphones, other macs...just ipods and iphone4 while on a Wifi network. not really that useful until it can call out to other devices and be used outside of wifi.

As with all things Apple, give it six months to a year; it's already expanded out to the new iPod Touches, and the library is available to third party developers, iirc.

I think it will be a closed app within Apple products. AT&T can't handle the data to do it non-wifi. If iphone was on sprint, I'd probably buy one,..jesus, AT&T is horrible. I get voicemails from people on iphones and half the message is uninteligable.
