Now we know that Oden is out indefinitely, and Joel probably shouldn't come back for a while, are we seriously going into the season with a frontcourt rotation of Camby (not exactly a famous iron man), Aldridge and Pendergraph? (Especially given Pendergraph's, um, erratic play in Summer league?)

Personally I hope Cho is trying his hardest to move some of our guards for a big. I'm still intrigued by Varejao, and I have to think that Cleveland would be tempted to part with him for more scoring, but I also read that Denver are interested and would be happy to get him back as part of a larger Melo trade. Any suggestions (other than Hasheem Thabeet, of course)?

depends on pryz. if he can be back by mid november... no. if hes out till mid - late december.... yes.

forget oden at this point. guy isnt sure if he will be back by xmas. that should tell you all you need to know.

pendergraph blows. if we count on him we're dead anyway. with camby being injury prone and LA getting major minutes...id say get dampier ASAP. Cant hurt.

Man this is freaking me out, Mixum hit every point I was going to bring up.

As for whom they should get, I have no idea. Dampier is available, but I've never been a huge fan ... better than the alternative of a Camby-Penderstiff rotation though.

ya know what nic... i will give everyone a bold prediction here.

pryz is ready by early november making oden look like a bigger joke. how can a guy who had his knee blow up twice be closer to returning then oden who had his injury earlier and only once? that is just scary bad.

Wasn't Cunningham ahead of Pendergraph in the rotation last year... and didn't he log virtually all of his minutes at the 4 spot?

I was actually thinking about starting a new thread with a poll based on this very question--who will play in a game first this year, Oden or Przybilla. I think more and more are coming to the conclusion that it will be Joel.

But what if Pryz plays first but is a diminished player whereas Oden takes longer to return but makes a complete recovery? I would love for the guys to be healthy now, I'm dissapointed Oden is recovering so slowly, but in the end I only care about actual contributions on the basketball court.

    PLEASE follow the ground rules:
DO NOT quote MIXUM. Do not respond to MIXUM. Otherwise it spoils life for the majority of us who have him/her/it on ignore.

Death is the only option at this point.

So are you saying release Rudy (and Mills of course)? Because we don't have a roster spot. And you're assuming Dampier has no better offers.

Then you might want to put me on ignore too. Nice knowing you.

I'm wondering who will sign Dampier. If the answer is "nobody", then the Blazers may as well see what they have from Pendergraph as an emergency center, and sign Damp in a few weeks if Li'l Bit won't be able to be effective. I'd hate to cut somebody for Dampier, though.

Don't you admit to having at least 11 posters on ignore? I'm guessing I'm one of them, but it does explain why you bring up points after the same points have already been posted by others.

In general, teams do not trade their bigs for guards- unless there's a darn compelling reason. And what guards would we trade that have any real value? The only two we have we'd trade with any value are Roy (and that ain't gonna happen) and Miller (but that would leave us without a PG- and don't ANY of you knuckleheads even suggest Bayless as out PG. just keep drinking your dad's vodka and keep your mouths shut until you learn the NBA).

So it's a 5% chance we're going to do that.

We might get away with trading Babbitt and a guard for a big.

If we have to rely on Pendergraph for any kind of minutes we are going to be in trouble. The guy was brutal last year, he was even more brutal to watch in summer league. Sure he might have ADD and look like he's bad sometimes, but the guy sucks!

True. But we'd have to lose a contract- like rudy?

Fair enough, but it's getting to the point that I'm seeing entire threads of "this message is hidden". I can't really say I feel like I'm missing out, though.

You're right. No team would ever trade a big, like Camby, for smalls, like Blake and Outlaw.

    Read my post, boy.

And, oh, yeah, psssssssssssssssst- Outlaw isn't a guard.

Just thought you'd like to know for future reference.

Kevin Love just hurt his knee. Perfect time to trade for him. Maybe we can stockpile all of the big gimps in the league.
