Here's the highlights: http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/playo...n&id=5656400&campaign=rss&source=MLBHeadlines He's an amazingly complete pitcher.
Naturally, I'm pulling for my Braves. Plus, it's Bobby Cox's last season, and all. That said, the Phillies are WAY too tough. There's no question in my mind that they'll be representing the NL in the Series.
saw the last 5 innings. Was intrigued by the announcers on TBS totally "jinxing" the game...usually it's not talked about until the 8th or 9th, but they were counting down from the 6th onward. It was dominating. He was changing sides of the plate, changing speeds, getting to 0-2 or 1-2 and then just dropping that split to dirt-level. Flail away, little hitter...flail away.
Chipper was having a good year, but the reason they barely squeaked into the playoffs had nothing to do with him and everything to do with their pitching staff.
Chipper had a good month, but a pretty poor year overall. Still, blown knee or not, put him on the WS roster WHEN then get there, and throw him up as a pinch hitter in a meaningless game. Might bring tears to my eyes. See him limp around the bases after a Kirk Gibson-esque home run?
Not trying to be the bearer of bad news, but I don't see any chance that the Braves make it to the WS.
