20 years ago the Atlanta Hawks toured the Soviet Union. I followed the games and the Soviets really wanted to win one. The Hawks were always unmotivated in the Nique era to pass the ball (because of Dominique's example) so the games got closer and closer until the Soviets won the last one. The Hawks made an excuse about some injury, but the real reason was they weren't trying, as usual.
Today the European champion beat the American champion for the world championship. On the ESPN Laker board they like to keep repeating World Champion Los Angeles Lakers®™ On Sports 2 people don't troll, but if I still posted on ESPN, tonight I'd start a thread on the Lakers board titled World Champion Regal FC Barcelona®™ I've only been banned twice on that Laker board (Maris witnessed both times), three's a charm.
You seem so wide-eyed and easily impressed. Is this your way of telling everyone that you're a ban virgin?
I don't want to push you out of the closet, so I won't refer further to your battle virginity, but I have many other war tales from the ESPN front. I seem to recall that you got into small-scale skirmishes yourself. You've much mellowed in your old age. I don't think you're the innocent waif you now self-portray. Remember when you and crandc would get into it? Ah, those were the days.
Boxscore. Of note: Barca's two most productive players (Navarro, 25, 6 ass, 2 stls, and Mickeal, 26, 13 rbs, 7 ass., good D on Bryant) had negative +/-s, while Rubio, who went 0-5 with 4 tos was actually +1. Also worth noticing: Lamar Odom, who played all summer for the Olympic team, and who will have to play big minutes with Bynum out, played 41 minutes in this "meaningless" game. If Odom gets a season-ending injury, the Lakers are well and truly fucked.
Wow - I agree with Kobe! Sort of ironic him criticizing NBA teams for not moving the ball more, though.
Yeah, the unwritten rule is you can't be a fan of a combination of the Lakers, Cowboys, or Yankees. At least you come from one of those three cities though, so that's one up on some people I know.
