Joel is impressing the fuck out of me. I was one of the nay-sayers who was prognosticating the end of his career, and I am so pleased to be the one who is the idiot overly emotional doomsday fan this time. We still need to see if he is as mobile as before, but big time respect goes out to Joel.

As far as Greg, I have no idea if he re-injured his knee or not, but I am really pulling for this guy. I know that he was playing at near full speed last week, but had a limp running. This could easily be due to patellar tendinitis or continued swelling or a zillion other things, but just knowing that he is out there trusting his legs enough to go at near full speed is also good news. I expect he will be back at full speed within the first 10 games of the season.

Losing Pendy sucked since he was our bu C, but if Joel is returning and stays healthy, then losing Pendy becomes less of an issue, and if Greg comes back soon, then we will be going from thin to stacked in no time.

I just hope beyond hope NO MORE SERIOUS INJURIES!

This would have to make Przybilla one of the all time tough guy Blazers. I just hope that he's not rushing it and ends up aggravating an already serious injury. Kudos to him if he comes back functioning.

Easy to me to understand. Joel said he won't be 100% for 2-3 years, but he can go out there 70% or so and help. No one wants Greg out there at less than 100%.

So lemme get this straight....Greg has a "setback" trying to get back for the playoffs, and resets his rehab until now.

Joel wants to rush back, and be less than 100% for years, and you want Greg to follow his lead? Joel's following GREG'S lead, and is ok with playing injured. Great for him. Good attitude and I respect that. But you want to rush Greg back a SECOND time in his rehab in order to feel better about his timeline?

I suspect the setback came after the season was over, because if Oden really had been trying to come back for the playoffs then he didn't do a very good job of it; he looked like he weighed over 300 pounds in April.

in thread after thread you keep saying the same thing, but you're still not a doctor and you definitely weren't privy to the details of the injuries or rehabs of either... right? Reading Quick's tweets doesn't change that. Things may not make sense, but if you can keep in mind that you don't know shit then everything that happens falls into context. This is true for me and most everyone else here as well... we just have to take serious injuries/rehab as an unknown that happens outside of our scope

I'm happy that Joel seems to be making it back sooner then initially guessed and am not worried about Greg's tendinitis being a long term condition because thats the history of the injury. Hopefully neither suffers another setback... I'm anxious to see them on the court and see what they can provide

What you have to understand is that the current problem with Gregs knee is inflammation of the muscle DUE TO OVERWORK.

Torn patellar tendon (X2) > broken kneecap, unless it was broken kneecap and a mystery injury that was pretty severe.

they probably did a microfracture on his megafracture and didn't tell him (or us). So he's actually 3 months ahead of schedule, right?

...because finding a cure for cancer is similar to identifying whether a knee injury is worse than another.

    okay.
