im saying i get my post deleted but im the one who got called a jackass. go figure. thats baiting on hcp's part
Honest question I am curious, HCP. What, in your opinion, makes those sources a joke? Also, who in this market would you not consider a joke of a source?
A few reasons. Jaynes is as out of loop as it comes. Canzano barely goes to home games let alone road. These players don't talk to EITHER of these guys. As much as I don't like Quick and how he writes, at least he is around the team. Freeman is squared away and to answer you ?, Bryan T. Smith was great and will be missed
smith, quick, freeman are the biggest softies who cover the blazers. thats why hcp likes them. canzano and jaynes arent sugar coaters/homers... translation call out crap when they see it.
I hate Quick and Freeman! I said at least they go to games and have a relationship with the players. Canzano doesn't even go to the fucking games! Jaynes is washed up and is now a radio tool! What are you fucking talking about. They have the least amount of cred in this city, yet you link their articles and quote them. A perfect match!
Why is everyone so uptight about this Oden thing? We've never really had him... further if he doesn't show strong this year we'll have a backup 7 footer for the cost of a can of Pringles... I'm more excited about watching the lock down defense that Batum, Mathews, Bayless and Joel can do for us. Further we could put Marcus at the PF with Joel at Center along with Mathews, Batum and Bayless as a second team defense lockdown group.... could ya imagine that? As long as Joel is on the horizen we'll be fine with him and Camby! Oden can do whatever....
To summerize for those that don't want to read Jaynes 1. Oden might need to suck it up and play through some pain like a real athlete 2. He complains about defense, and while they have been bad, the new schemes are good, and will start to show results in season 3. Winning in preseason doesn't matter, but playing well does 4. Talks about the motionless offense that Portland runs 5. Talks about Batum being underutilized by the coaching staff. All real problems, and all need to be addressed for Portland to improve when it counts.....in the playoffs.
People need to stop overrating Batum's abilities. People want him to be this go-to scorer but he just doesn't have that ability, and I don't buy that it's McMilllan holding him back. Wesley Matthews has come in has shown he's been able to do this. He has that mentality....Batum doesn't. This is why people shouldn't use PER as the be-all, end-all statistic. PER said Wesley Matthews is a below average player. PER also wants you to believe that Batum was better last year than any year in Prince's career, and that's just blasphemy. Batum needs to show us he's capable of doing more than just shooting 3's. Yes, he can run off screens, but I see no reason why Portland should do that all game when they have other options.
Really? Have you ever had tendonitis? Here ya go, doc. http://www.itendonitis.com/knee-tendonitis.html Don't quit your day job. Edit: Reading further in the thread I see you claim tendonitis in your knees. This claim makes your position even more pathetic.
Soreness and inflammation is just part of the process of working the joint back into shape. GO will be fine. For the record, I did read the article and weep. When Johnny Boy puts on his white coat and stethoscope to write an article, I laugh until I cry.
Yea, because having a guy who has missed significant time 3 yrs straight due to knee injuries play through the pain of knee inflammation is a brilliant idea. Management playing it safe and taking it slow is the smart and prudent thing to do, which of course pisses off the impatient masses, but luckily they don't seem to be listening.
I'm sure that made Jaynes' epeen feel warm to write, but Oden has never shown an unwillingness to play or practice through pain, that I can recall. I'd rather Oden went with the doctor's advice, rather than Jaynes' wanna-be testosterone-beast advice.
