It's amazing how trolls figure out ways to maintain "the letter of the law" on message boards like this, yet continue year after year to get their masturbatory attention-seeking thrills enabled by unwarranted negativity.

Plus the mods refuse to institute a method of COMPLETELY ignoring him. Yes, I know there's Firefox plug-ins and crap I could do.

I guess it's my fault for expecting any different. The definition of insanity: doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results.

The bottom line is that his posts reveal just how lonely and desperate his life is. MIXUM doesn't annoy me; I pity him.

I wish there were some mod/hack for vbulletin that would provide a better ignore feature. I'd be happy to install it.

Otherwise, vb4 is a really big and complex piece of software that'd take a lot of hacking (on my part) to implement some sort of ignore feature, potentially breaking some features of the site/software in the process.

It seems that about half the posters think some guys are trolls and the other half don't (or like the posts). We're damned if we do, damned if we don't - we're sure to go down some slippery slope where banning guys for no good reason will happen.

What I really don't get is that if you don't like a certain poster's posts, don't open the threads the person starts. If nobody responds to a person's posts, they'd likely get bored of talking to themselves and move on. To make matters worse, posting a response to a guy you want to ignore only eggs him on, so what's the point in doing that?

Really Chis??? You complain about somebody wanting to stand out by pointing him out by name in the title of your thread?....doesnt that seem completely bass ackwards to anybody else.

And I agree with Presidente...the basketball knowledge has gone down the shitter around here. The influx of retards into this place has been disheartening

I appreciate Mixum's posts. OK, so he doesn't know jack about basketball. OK, so he is a troll. HOWEVER, 75% of the posters are just kids who sneak booze from their dad's supply and then come on and show just how ignorant people can really be- what makes Mixum's posts any different, really.

So let him say what he wants. I mean, he also may lack any sort of eloquence, but sometimes he makes points with his sarcasm. I'm willing to give him a break.

Well, there was a great solution for vb3, but somebody decided we needed vb4 and a sidebar. :ghoti:

The site would be a better source of Blazer related news/discussion without him, but laughing at his failures and subsequent fits is otherwise amusing.

I'm going with the hope that once the season starts and most people can watch a game, then we'll get more discussion about basketball. For the most part right now it's like a mix of the American Orthopedic Surgeon's national conference and a Psychology Club meeting at the community college. Every player has been microscoped to death on their past performance, we can't really see how players have improved over the summer, injuries are not quite healed and all of the major discussion points (better P&R defense, more fluid and varied offense, will we fastbreak more, etc) are on hold while guys like Randolph Sykes and Armon Johnson are getting minutes, and the veterans being in various states of IDGAF right now.
